Please, for the sake of Pete, read the first page of this thread. It was an ad, it was a hoax, it was done with CGI.

well it seems like it could be posible. But there would porbaly have a few flause like 1 short battery life 2 it would be rlly big 3 if your making popcorn and talking on your cell it will focus more on making the popcorn then the call so making a call would be crapy.

Because people tend to believe everything on the internet without question. The correct thing to do with any viral videos is to assume it is fake until it can be objectively proven to be possible. In this intense it is completely impossible.

Guy's do the math.
Cell phone puts out less then 1 Watt of power. Your everage microwave is 900 Watt.
Even with that there is a foil in microwave pop to magnitude the heat to boil the water inside the popcorn kernel.
It takes 10 sec in the video for the popcorn to pop, now in a microwave it doesnt start to pop until 30sec to a minute in. So by the video theory your safer with your head inside a microwave then talking on your phone. Guess again!

No, it didn't. Not in 5 minutes, not in 5 hours, not in 5 days, never. What part of "it's just a commercial" are people not understanding?

If cellphones can pop popcorn then it can easily fry an egg...not so?But that is so untrue that because they already tryed it.Popcorn uses high radiation heat to pop.Cellphones uses also radiation but its not nearly enough to cause a lot of heat o pop popcorn. In the video I saw three cellphones pointing at a few popcorn kernels. They ring the cellphones and five seconds later it started to pop but how many seconds does it take to pop popcorn in a microwave. At least 20 seconds. So I think they use a hotplate under hotplate under the to pop the popcorn so I think this myth is really fake!!!! .

You're right that it's fake, but wrong about how they did it. Back on the first page, when it was explained that it's a hoax, there is a link to a video where the CEO of the company behind it all explains how they did it. Simple digital editing.
