I really think that mythbusters should realy test this out because u know how in every myth if it dosnt work they trick it out to make it work.... just like the macgaver episode with the bullet bomb to open the door they put a round piece of metal in the handgun...

So I really think that they should do this myth

They won't. In a fairly recent episode, Grant said, "It's so busted it's not even worth our time." He also said, "If cell phones had anywhere near the temperature to pop popcorn, your hair would catch fire." And the ad was done with digital editing.

I think you should read what I posted DIRECTLY ABOVE you. They will not test it.

I've only seen it de-bunked (the idea of it, not the admittedly faked video) where people call cell phones surrounding the kernels (100 around the kernel, and another 100 phones calling those phones).

They should have had the phones around the kernel call out so they would be transmitting, and not just receiving. So, if you all decide to do it, have the phones around the kernel call out, and aim them all at the kernel (if aiming matters). Go up to 1000 or so. ;-)

Waste of time...

Stick to your microwave.. Cheaper and better than messing about with cellphones.. You get more popcorn that way as well..

Um...

So, with your cell phone, if someone calls you, you can not talk to them? You can only hear what they say to you but your phone isn't transmitting anything back?

Wierd.

Every cellphone I've ever encountered transmits and recieves simultaneously, and equally whether it's an outgoing call or an incoming call.

I definetely think the Adam and Jamie should test it to make sure its fake

With that "logic", they should also test whether jumping off of a bridge can be fatal. The two are about the same in terms of obviousness.
