I have had blood clots that were on my lungs, seven years ago. It was very scarry. I am still here, my lung capacity is not as good as it use to be, but, it has not stopped me from living a good life. Please tell Phil, don't give up, or in. Listen to your doctors. I hope to see him on his boat next season. Trena
Keep lookin' up, because if you keep your will, you'll keep your life. I don't have the same health issues you do, but I know what it's like to have to get stuck with a needle like that on a regular basis (and yes, in the medical world that is a small needle - I was a phlebotomy major... It feels way bigger when it's in you, though, right? I don't care what the person sticking me says...) You're a champ to fight the way you are, and I really do hope that you do return next season, and that you come out of this feeling stronger and wiser.
I know what it's like to be in and out of the hospital constantly, and how much it terrifies your family - especially when you've been close to death. But the more you keep your cool, the more they'll keep theirs. I keep you in mind, and hope that like the fellow that started the thread you'll be able to resume your usual daily life. Follow your doc's advice, keep up with the medication and appointments and you'll do great.
Captain Phil, I don't have any personal experience in this matter, but it saddens me to see that you are so ill. I am praying for you and your family, and hope that you get better soon.
I have had a blood clot in my lung and in my chest. Both were scary. I am a recovering colon cancer survivor and I think both clots were caused by my treatments but they hit me harder than the cancer. Phil, whatever they tell you to do, DO IT. Don't monkey with your health. We love you. Also the most important thing to do is to ask questions and research your problem. An informed patient is a lot more likely to make a full recovery. Be a part of your treatment. God bless and get well. Hope to see you back on the tube soon. Make those boys behave too.
Captain Phil, we also pray for you for a fast and safe recovery. The show would not be the same with out you Phil. Please do what the Doc says to do. How are those Bird houses coming along May God bless you in every GOOD way and bless your family. Jer 29:11 KEEP THE FAITH
I had to take Lovenox myself last year after some major leg surgery. Though I have numerous tattoos and has donated blod and sold blood plasma,I have a deep fear of needles. Having to inject myself was always hard and I never got used to it. FWIW,I had smaller 22 guage needles.Maybe he has more belly fat to get through and required a longer needle?
My uncle went through a similar situation while he was driving and thought it was just his ulcer acting up when he went to the doctor he was put on blood thinners and in icu for a couple of weeks and it was touch and go for a while but he followed orders and changed his lifestyle is is doing better but still sees a doctor once a month to have his meds changed/adjusted
