I'm trying to submit this myth to Myth Busters. While growing up in Rochester New York, I would hear stories of a man who was jumping off the Canal Locks and while doing so, accidentally dove THROUGH a dead water logged cow that was in the canal. I've heard this story many times, with variations of who or how old the person was that actually did this.I thought it'd be cool to see if it can really be done.
