I worked for my grandfather's construction company in the late 1980's and early 1990's when I was a young teenager.
I remember, (quite well I might add), a few times we had to dig up septic tanks! NO, they were not new and empty either!
Man, I still remember one in particular. Real hot and humid summer day in Arkansas, heat index about like today at about 110 degrees. Myself and 2 other guys digging down a few feet with shovels, (Grandpa believed in manual labor with hand tools, not the modern backhoe on such a small job as he would call it). This beauty had a badly cracked lid and the aroma was STRONG in the heat and humidity! Enough said, just let your mind go where it pleases and you'll see the scene and smell the scent. I won't cover how we empties the thing and then lifted it out finally with a backhoe.
The thing is, since I helped dig up more than one, I don't know if I was crazy from the heat, or just very loyal and dedicated to my grandfather. I'm going with loyal and dedicated to gramps construction company! ha ha
By the way, I'm new here....
Love the show Mike!
