OK....I know that this previous job is not all that glamourous...and certainly would not make it on the show....but I can't imagine anyone willingly...unless they really needed a job...would do this. Back in college I thought I found the perfect job....it was a PT position that I would only need to work Saturdays and Sundays. I thought it was perfect....focus on my studies during the week...work on the weekend...and still have some sort of life.....until I found out what I was going to be doing. This job was at a hospital...in the housekeeping department....when I would begin my day cleaning the ER dept.....including the public bathrooms that were there. Let me tell you...there is nothing like coming into the ER on a Sunday Morning after a full night of treating patients. Luckily I was not affected by the sight of blood....unless it happened to cover the entire floor. Getting back to the public bathrooms...let's just have your imagination figure what they might have looked and smelled like. Then when that was complete it was onto the individual wings of the hospital...where there was always a full supply of bedpans just waiting to be washed. Yep, washing bed pans... back then you needed to do it the old fashioned way....hand wash them with a detergent that smelled just as bad as what was deposited in them. Then after that was done it was onto trash duty....and not just any old trash....the biohazard bags....which sometimes could be the regular trash. Let's just say that when I left work I would have to go home and spend at least a 1/2 in the shower with extremely hot water just to get the stench off my skin. Then it was a process to get the smell off of my clothes. Granted...it helped me pay my own way thru college....and whoever is doing that job now...I have the utmost respect for. It really was a dirty job
