Mike, Don't know if you've done a paper factory yet, but I worked four summers at Scott Paper (of toilet paper and paper towel fame), now Kimberly Clark, and I can assure you, it is a dirty job! I packed napkins into boxes most of the time (dusty and hot, and often fighting with the glue machine), but the dirtiest part of my job was blowing down (for cleaning purposes) the machines that turned the giant rolls of paper into napkins in packages. They were always coated with oil encrusted paper dust, which winds up all over you in the process. Add this to summertime temps as high as 115F, and it's quite nasty. But it paid for my wedding, lol. They also make paper from post consumer waste onsite there. The most fascinating thing I ever saw there was great huge bales of envelope windows being sent to the pulper. I never asked myself before where all those little bits on envelopes go that get punched out so addresses will show. Working in the paper mill is a very hot and dirty job, and not for the faint of heart. I didn't do that. My father has worked at Scott, now Kimberly Clark, for almost 40 years now, and he is my hero for sticking it out all this time, on swing shift for about 37 of those years! He now works in one of the offices. Have you looked at this dirty job yet?
