Love being a mom, but it has its not so fabulous moments. My worst experience as a mom was when my little girl woke me up one very early morning around 2 or 3 by throwing up on me. Yep, right in my face, in my hair, and down my neck. She was coming to tell me she had a tummy ache, and..lets just say it was bad timing...what a way to be awakened out of a sound sleep! Cleaning it was not fun, I don't think she got a drop on her. Of course instead of cleaning her bedding, I had to change my bedding, and of course, take a shower...a long hot shower! In her defense she was only 2 years old, but, I will never, ever, ever, forget it....YUCK!

I agree. Being a Mom is a completely dirty job. It is the best job ever but I spend a lot of time cleaning me the kids the house. I have to say the boys, 2 and 4, love the show, dirt is their favorite color. They love Mike and talk about the things he has done and seen all the time. They bond with Daddy while watching the show. A true guy moment, what more could a mom ask for.

Chrismomofthree,
So true so true.
I was just talk to a group at work about my daughter and her explosive and gigantic poo's.
almost weekly it seemed I woke up coverd in poo or pee. It was totally gross and super stunk in more ways than one. I had to clean up her, my son if it got on him, the bedding, and myself all before trying to get to work by 4am. ahhh those were the days. I'm glad I'm past the days of poopie pants!!!

i have not yet embarked on being a mom however i am getting ready for what i feel is one of the very dirty parts of the process... giving birth. do i really have to go into detail? there are all sorts of fluids, and gross details that i am really not looking foward to with natural child birth. but i would definatly say that being a mom and getting to the point you are officially a mom is a dirty job. (no sex jokes :P)

Kelli, and all the others:

So glad to hear that I'm not alone!!! My daughter that I wrote the story about is 6 now and my youngest is almost 3. (I also have a 9 year old son) I have bid a fond farewell to the days of diapers! Yay. No more leaky messes!! But vomit days never really ever go away. Kids puke at every age, and us mothers usually get to clean up the mess or comfort the sick child or both....

It's nice to know that every other mom in the world probably has a similar story. It's sort of the little bits of misery that really pale in comparison to the joys that the title "Mom" brings. However at 2 or 3 or 4 in the morning we may feel otherwise....

Also, best of luck to those embarking on the "mom" quest for the first time. Yes, it is dirty, messy business. But it is also the coolest experience you will ever have in your whole life! Best of luck to you!!

Being a mom is definately a dirty job, especially when your child is sick. My daughter is six now and we've had a couple of nights where she's had the flu so bad that she was throwing up all night long. If anyone knows why children only get that sick during sleeping time, please let me know. But it's not just the days that they're sick or the years that they're in diapers either. It's the marker on the walls and the playdough in the carpet and the toys everywhere and the joys of playing in the mud and the fingerpaint that they somehow get on the ceiling (still haven't figured that one out) that makes parenthood the best and dirtiest job I've ever had.

Oh yes being a mom is a dirty job. When my son was little if you tickled him too much he would throw up of course dad thought I was making it up. When our son was 4 almost 5 dad got him a hotdog and loaded it with mustard, onions, relish and saurkraut. We had an hour drive ahead of us and he decided to tickle our son I was driving anyway. I told him not to he'll throw up he told me I was full of it and kept doing it I said to him if he gets sick he's cleaning it he replies with "yeah right". Sure enough my little fountain let it fly it was all over dad and my dash. He griped about it but he cleaned it up and never did that again Big Grin

Being a Mom is a very dirty job and it starts the day you go to your first Doctor visit after you discover you are pregnant. All the things your mind body and soul has to endure even before you have the babies in the first place.
Then all the things we have to do afterwards.
I don't need to go into all the dirty details. But having said this, it is also the most rewarding job in the world as well.

My son had pyloric stenosis when he was 4 weeks old. He projectile vomited for 2 days straight. Woe to anyone in the path. My daughter had gas so bad when she was 2 months old, that once realeased, it went 3 feet and onto the wall.

yea, giving birth has to be one of the dirtiest jobs around (and the hardest) when our first daughter was born they told my husband that is was time to cut the cord, so he did. They forget to tell him that BLOOD was going to spray all over his brand new white & baby blus shirt that he bought just for photos with his new baby! WHOOPS! That became a work shirt!
