My Dad shears sheep for a living, it is a very dirty job, the barn is full of ammonia and manure. Sometimes the sheeps wool are wet which makes my dads job really slick! Under the sheep's fleece there are ticks. My Dad cathes the sheep amd places it between his legs in a memorized manuver. There is a certain pattern that you have to memorize. The sheep fling snot and bogars on my dad.
Once the fleece is off the sheep, my dad picks it up and has to pack it into a 6 feet by three feet burlap wool bag. He has to really pack it, at the end of the day the burlap bag can weigh up to 350 pounds!!
My Dad comes home covered in Lanalyn from the wool, swaet, poop, pee and some days ticks! My Dad is an awesome sheep shearer, and not only that but he has 10 children and has taught 6 of his 10 to shear sheep!!! Three of his daughters( including me!!) and three of his sons!

Wow! that is a dirty job. I remeber has a kid having to pack the wool when it came time for shearing the sheep. It was so hard to climb up the ladder on the wool bagger with one hand, while holding the dirty sliming wool in the other hand. At the end of the day you are covered in geasse from the wool. Dirt and straw and any thing else in the barn are stuck on you like glue from the Lanlyn. Which is a common ingredint in most womens hand creams.
I remember having to pull off all of the ticks that are stuck on you, sucking out your blood at the end of the day.
One summer I remember watching them sheer sheep that had been rained on and the flys had laid eggs in the wet wool. As the sheerer cut the wool off magets were falling out of the sheeps back and unto the shearers arms and legs. The smell was the worst smell I've ever, ever smelled. The magets had eaten large hole's into the back's of the sheep, The sheerer had to scoop out all of the magets with his bear hands and spray the animal down with medicine so that it would live. Shearing sheep is a way dirty job. It is sticky job too. The odor in most barns is very strong, So strong that it never really washes out of your clothes once you get the lanlyn on it.
I had forgotten what a hard and dirty job Sheep sheering was. This is a good one. I hear that they ever have contest to see her can sheer the sheep the fastest all over the world.
