When I was a young man, I worked as a Kiln Fireman in the factory of a company called Buffalo China. This job involved moving very heavly loads of china around a large and hot kiln in 100+ degree temperatures. It was a very dirty and dangerous job. I don't know if Buffalo China is still in business but I'm sure there are similar jobs at other companies making china and dinnerware.
I also worked a few days for Manpower in the 1970s and the dirty job I did was sweep Rich Stadium after a ball game. I was amazed by all the trash that people left in the stadium after a game. Piles and piles of trash and half-eaten hot dogs and sausages.....ugh!
Another dirty job I did as a young man was the unloading sides of beef from very large tractor trailer trucks. I spent 8 hours a day carrying sides of beef that were greasy, bloody and very heavy. It was dirty and nasty work and I remember never being able to completely shower off the fat and the smell of beef blood for the two weeks that I did this dirty job.
