I spent five years adding air conditioning to homes built in phoenix fifty years ago. In august with the heat and humidity you would spend the whole day on a roof and in an attic.
You would cut a hole in the roof and climb on in. In most cases you would have to crawl through the nastiest insulation ever made. You would then spend hour after hour cutting holes in the cieling and running ductwork.
By the end of the day when you came out of the attic (which reaches 150 degrees) you cant hardly stand and your body is covered in rockwall insulation. Then you finish the roof work where your tools are so hot they burn your hands.
