Yes I know that it does not sound too bad, but people do a lot of really gross stuff in a pool. First things first, the pool I run does not get covered over the winter. So every spring I must get in and push sludge, compost, dead animals, and other pleasantries towards the amin drains. Once that is done I must then climb down into a deep pit and empty everything I have pushed into the drain from the pool. That is the worst ever. You are 16 feet down and no where to but in the muck. My diving well is another story. it is 12 feet deep and too deep for the main drains to work. We first pump out excess water and then climb down a ladder and fill large garbage cans full of muck and take them to the top to be emptied. Once that is done the easy part starts. We fill and add chemicals. Then people get in, that is where the really fun starts. Once a week we must drain our pit and clean the elements which filter the pool. Again people do some really gross things in a pool. This pit is full of poop, dead skin, diapers, googles, bathing suits(I don't even want to know about that), oil, hair, hair, hair, and more good hair, sometimes dead bloated animals, urine, and other wonderful byproducts of the humane being. This is done once or twice a week depending on how busy we are. We do this wonderful job to ensure that people stay happy and healthy while swimming. There are other just as wonderful aspects to this job, but I will save them for another time. Swim On!
