One of my wife's friends works part-time as a contract forensic odontologist.
They identify dead bodies by matching mouths to dental records and applying some detective work.
I saw her today and spoke to her about what she has been doing and why she does it.
She said she does the work to help bring closure to the friends and relatives of the dead people.

For the past two weeks she has been in New Orleans helping identify bodies.
She will be back there Monday (as long as necessary) to continue the process.
She has also been in DC speaking with some of the friends and relatives.

Two years ago, she spent several months in north Georgia identifying bodies in the mortuary scandal.

So - whenever you think you are having a bad day in the office, it could be much worse.
You could be looking in the mouths of dead people and talking to people trying to find friends and relatives.
