Our episode aired a couple weeks ago and I was sooo upset..
They called me a Legal Secretary! I went through 4 years of college and CEU credits every year and special certifications to be a Court Reporter! LOL
And our old house was listed as a 1 bedroom when it was really 3!

Mistakes happen.
I am quite certain that your occupation or credentials stated were not intended to offend you.I did notice that you had three bedrooms, not one. It would be upsetting as a participant for this to happen. I do think you had one of the best episodes of
Moving Up for the season.Your former home and new home were very impressive.
The main thing is that you created a beautiful new home.I wish you, your family, and all the participants the very best. Smile

Wow, thank you very much Dawfan! I was really scared after all the "mean participant" posts on previous shows.
I realize mistakes happen! Thanks for the reassurance. Smile
We had a great time filming. My hubby and I are very playful with each other..they cut alot of our banter out! LOL I made a great new friend out of all this, the new homeowner of our old home! Smile
I hope everyone enjoyed it. I'm still adjusting to our new home...and we got a hot tub..Smile

I LOVED your finished results! Your new home is just BEAUTIFUL! I love your taste in colors and finishes. I have your "after" saved in my TiVo to hopefully get some ideas for our new home, especially your backyard!

I just saw your episode on TLC tonight and loved how your house turned out. I am really interested in finding out the name of paint you used in your kitchen. I saw it came from Pratt and Lambert, but don't know the exact name of the shade. If you could please let me know I would greatly appreciate it! Again, I love the look of your new house and congrats on getting the Hot Tub after all. Smile

Your new home looks amazing what a GREAT job you all did. I was wondering if there was a place on the "site" where we could go to see pictures of the work that was done in and around your home. I was telling my husband about your place and wanted him to see hot great the backyard turned out. If there is such a place on here, could you please direct me to it...? I would really appreciate it.

P.s. Glad to hear you got the hot tub....lol
Take Care

Hebert, Thanks for the compliment! Smile Our kitchen paint is actually from Ralph Lauren, it's called Old Violin.

Petra, thank you for your kind words. I do have some pics up on HGTV's Rate My Space of some of the house.

HMK102 -- I saw a rerun of your episode and absolutely love your backyard. You and your husband did an amazing job. Do you have any pictures of the fireplace, etc? Do you have a link to the Rate My Space pictures? I'd love to do something similar when I buy a home. Thanks!

To all those who pass judgement on us. We did not spend all of our winnings. We invested. We have college funds. We spent all the money we allotted for renovations. We were each given a list of vendors who gift and discount goods and services for the show, which made most of the renovations appear to be expensive. We carry an affordable mortgage like everyone else in the country. The producers are very good at their jobs, EDITING. None of us had anything mean to say about each other, so they had to create the illusion of snide comments here and there. We all remain very good friends.
It was an amazing experience but for the portrayal that we were irresponsible in our decisions. It's better for TV if we went broke on renovating a house. We didn't want to retire in ten years. We wanted a beautiful house to raise our children in, my husband more so. Wink
My husband and I are very playful with each other and only those close to us know that all our comments about each other are for fun. It is ashame that some people feel they can tell about a person's life and character from an hour show.
Never judge a book by the first page. Smile
Thank you to all who had nice things to say. We enjoyed filming.
