I've been watching the show "Moving Up." My nagging questions are:

1. Is it just me, or are these people INSANE for paying $500,000 for a two bedroom cottage? There's at least one in every episode! Where I live, you can get a mansion and a half for that money, plus a Lexus, swimming pool and a dog.

2. Then, after shelling out $500,000 for a two bedroom cardboard box, they have an extra $70,000 to make renovations. OMG, sometimes they are even newlyweds and must be making hordes of cash! What kind of jobs do these people have?? I already have a good job, but I want to know what these people are doing that I'm not.

Is this a fantasy land??
