Well, as stated in my post here, I am trying to convince my parents to buy me a horse, and therefore collecting all the information I can get my hands on. I know it must vary to some extent from place to place, but what does full board usually mean? I know the place I'm looking at is good quality, as I've ridden there for years, but not with my own horse. I'm fairly sure they have daily turnout, but I don't know what else. (I don't know if this will be helpful, but the monthly full-board cost is $465 per horse). Thanks,

It usually includes (but remember, you have to ask, because their isn't one universal standard that all stables adhere to):

*feed, but make sure it's complementary to your horses special needs and activity level. You may want to provide supplements, or work on a special feed schedule if it calls for it.

*mucking of stalls

*turning out at least a couple times a day

Okay, so like if one day I happen to be busy all day and couldn't get out to the stables, my horse would be alright? Like he would be fed, his stall would be clean, he would be turned out, etc. (If I understand you correctly)?

Yes, essentially, your horse is 100% cared for, the only stuff that is up to you is exercise, training and grooming.

Some stables even offer the above services for extra charge.

It really depends on how serious, established, and professional the place you choose to board at is. Casual mom and pop places can be just as good. Just make sure you really compare if you have the option, and pick the one that suits you and your horse best.

Thanks again for your help, most of what I've done is just the riding and grooming, not much else, so a lot of stuff like this I'm not really sure about.
