i thought maybe i could create a post about funny things that our horses do!!! So if you know anything funny that your horses do please tell us. it could be anything!! For examle: let's say when you whistle your horse neighs!!! *Please tell us anything this will be fun*
My horse Jackie is an attention hog, and if i pass her up without saying hello she turns her back to me stomps and whinnys. Like "humph i cant beileve she just passed me up!". Of course i always go back and give her a hug and some attention after. lol it always cracks me up.
My horse thinks I'm one big tissue. He's sneeze or sniff something nasty and then come and wipe his nose all over me. He'll smile occasionally. We also have a young donkey and she'll come up behind you and rest her large head on your shoulder.
My old mare would push me off the fence if she wanted to scratch her head on it, lift her head up so high I couldn't get the halter on, lunge herself, smile all the time and when I would nod my head she would too! She was quite a character.
My horse Komet got into all kinds of trouble as a colt, his favorite thing was to break through hotwire fence, he would put one leg through, time it just right in between the electric pulses, jump into his stallion Dad's paddock and make fun of him when the neighbor's mares were around. He was extremely lucky his Dad was such a kind gentleman! The ultimate was when Mr. Curious Komet showed up at morning feeding time with a muzzle full of porcupine quills. This was a first for the vet! Apparently it's not normal for a horse to stick his nose into a dangerous animal, but try telling Komet that. You'd think now that he's 14 and has plenty of experience at jumping, dressage, eventing and camping, he'd tone down his curiosity, but no! He's worked his way up to being the boss of all the other geldings in his turnout pasture, he chases them around and gets them in trouble for being hard to catch, while acting totally nickering and innocent when I go to catch him, or when treats are involved.
I can't believe how lucky I am to have a horse partner who likes all the stuff I enjoy (eventing, trails) and keeps me in a good perspective with his sense of humor.
