i know a LOT about horses. i work at a rescue ranch (with lots of others) where we help abused horses recover and train ponies and other horses and we're just around horses all the time. We ride them groom them and play with them.I've been doing this for a while now and i know this with sound silly since i have been around horses a lot but I am SOOOOOO confused when it comes to horse breeds. I know what a paint looks like. But that's the only breed i know. i have seen many horses but i don't know what breed they are!!!So i thought you could help me out since everyone here is a horse lover why not ask you guy to send me pics of your favorite or any horse you want and tell me what breed it is!! AND TO MAKE THIS A LITTLE FUNNER IF I GET MORE THAN 11 PICS I WILL POST A SECRET ABOUT HORSE THAT I LEARN WORKING AT THE RESCUE RANCH!!!!
I think it so awsome what you do. I personally want to be a veternarian @ thoses types of ranches where you work w/ injured and abandoned horses. I worked @ an animal shelter over the summer and i love the feeling you get by changing an animals life.Keep up the good work! you must realy love your job!
You are so lucky that you work in that kind of environment. However, my advice on determining different horse breeds is their unique properties and personalities. though some may be hard like a thouroghbred and quarter horse but you got to see the difference, think of their uses. If a horse has a big chest cavity, long sleek legs, is a solid color, and has powerful hind quarters, you'll know it is a thouroghbred. Since they race they have a big chest for air intake, long legs to run and sadly they don't come in paint colors or roans. I get confused sometimes too but i always figure it out somehow.
