Angeleeta says, "No new horses lately, and I don't think I'll ever get any horses. Owning a horse isn't very practical for me, but I do like occasionally riding. Speedcards hasn't been on for a long while and I must admit it doesn't bother me in the least".
You're right on about Speedcards, Naztuki, "Last Word", whoever. Since honest dialog is now allowed, we all eventually go through different times in our lives--career, love, marriage, kids, grandkids etc. when horses are no longer the highest priority. This doesn't mean we ever have to say "never". Keep riding here and there and keep horses in your mind because your experience will never do you wrong. Who knows what the future brings?
I think my life will always have horses in it, wheter in spirt, just enjoying the site, talking about them, or riding them.
I haven't rode Jesse in awhile, and don't plan to. The last time I rode him, I got really messed up. Weird saddle + his weird gait from an old injury + me not having the seat I used to = a series of deep tissue massages to work the kinks out.
I do love horses, but for now I have enough pets, enough responsibility, and not enough finances to cover all my bills and passions along with a horse.
I'm never saying never, but in my own time, my own way.
Okay sounds fine to me. Whatever you want to do is your decision and I will support you. It's your life and no one here should try to make the decisions for you.
Absolutely! You never forget being a horse person, you just focus on other parts of life that you value more for the time being, until life cycles around again years later towards the horse way. Then you get to take up again where you left off with horses, and life with horses is so much more sweet.
