I love donkeys. They are natural guardians and caretakers of the pastures, around here people keep them to keep the coyotes away from their livestock. A male and female donky will act as a team to protect their herd from threats. The jack (male) will run out to confront the threat, while the jenny (female) will stay with the herd to keep them safe. Donkeys will do this no matter who they share their pasture with, horses, cattle, sheep, goats...they will be safe.

Any body have a good donkey story they would like to share?

We had a donkey at my stable in NY, BO got her for her birthday. She was a nasty little devil, mean as heck. Dunno what happened to her, we were always with her grooming her, bathing her, everything. She was just plain nasty. She was sent on her way to live out in green, green pasture with her brother at friend's place. Couldn't risk her hurting one of the little kids.

There are some donkeys down the street I visit sometimes, but I can't take my dogs, because the donkeys will charge them.
