Any arabian fans here? I am a huge lover of arabs. I used to have a flea-bitten grey gelding named prince but we had to sell him. I am looking forward to owning lots of arabs in the future though. If anyone wants to talk arabians with me please do.
I am the #1 Arabian fan!!!!! I love them. They are like my life! Well I am kind of sad..because I don't have any horses at all. Notta..zip..zero. But I am looking at this awesome Grey Arabian Mare. She is 6. And no she isn't white...called grey. She is as grey and dappled as it can be. She is ssoo pretty.
It all depends. I've had expiriance with Arabs and personally it all depends on the Arab. Arabians were BRED to be more energetic because they had to go miles and miles across the dessert with out water. Try doing that on a Clydesdale!I found that many people don't like them because back a few decades ago they became a "fad" and were overbred... so there are many many ill-bred Arabians out there. So they go for cheap, and people who don't know much about horses and can't afford much buy the cheap ones, screw them up even more, and sell them to the next person when they can't afford them. You'll find a lot at open shows or 4-H flitting around uncontrollably. The well bred ones can be very nice horses. Unfortunaly a lot of the well bred breed ones are in saddle seat so they are fed alfalfa and cob to get them energized. The others, like western, are supposed to tuck thbier noses into thier chins and hold their heads up high.. apperantly because it's "pretty." I don't agree with that, if my head was yanked up and my mouth pulled on to tuck my chin into my chest... I'd go absolutley bazurck as well! The Arab is no more energetic than the TB, but although they make great horses, generally they aren't for begginners. However, like I said, there are many many many exceptions. Some make wonderful animals!! Always judge the horse itself, not JUSt the breed. I've seen fat ploddy arabs and super crazy unmanagable Quarter horses!
