My grandpa's mare, Briar, had a new colt last night. He and Briar going to be all mine! I went to help with the delivery and the moment I saw him I knew he would become a beautifull horse. I named him Riot. The two are comming home next week and Arguss and I can't wait. I haven't had a horse in 4 years; ever sence Splash, my palomino paint, had to go live at my grandpa's house, and I'm so exited to get two new additions to my house of animals. Arguss can't wait either. He missed Splash after she had to leave and was so happy to know that Briar and Riot are coming to live with us. Big Grin Smile Big Grin Smile Big Grin

Briar is a darker palomino and Riot is more of a cream. They are both AQHs. I live on a piece of land out in historical Marksville Louisiana. I live in a 70 year old house that belonged to my great grandparents. There is a small pond, two feilds(in one we grow crops and in the other we keep the horses), and a barn. You could say that it's a small farm. Big Grin

I wish I lived on a small farm! And had a newborn colt with the mare. Do you know Briar well? Have you gone to see the colt? What's he like?

I know Briar very well and Arguss and I were there for the delivery. He likes Arguss a lot and follows him around. It's really funny. Big Grin

So when exactly are they arriving at your place? is your place far from them and your grandfather? Can you tell what the colt's personality is like yet?

The closest "big" city would be Alexandria and it's about half an hour away. Splash is still alive but does not live at my grandpa's anymore. She lives with my grandma's friend Kim in Florida now where she is used in one of those programs for disabled kids who want to learn to ride horses.

That's great Russelsrule. I currently work at a Therapuetic riding center and am curently getting my certification for NARHA. My horse (Justin) that I had shown for over 8 years is currently a therapuetic riding horse ( just leased him out last month) It is a fabulous program. I have been at the center for a few years ad have fallen in love with the kids and also have learned so much about the disabilities. It's amazing how many birthday parties I have to go to. Mandey is right... most of the kids are AUTISTIC. They can't focus on much and have a hard time understanding directions... and sitting still! My horse is perfect for it.. he is a grade horse, and is only fear of anything is cows, so he is pretty much bomb proof unless any cow comes wandering into the table! LOL

I get to go see her every summer and I can't wait to go this time. It always made me feel better to think she was helping a good cause. Anyway, Briar and Riot are doing just fine. Riot has become best friends with Yankee and the two chase my chickens together. Briar stays around the front gait a lot, she hates being left alone. Anita and Arguss are beginning to bond more. The two do everything together. B.B.H has a strong disliking for her though, but he pretty much doesn't like anybody beside M.B. and me. I am preparing to breed my two champion show pigeons next week. I have been waiting to breed for quite a while and I hope I'll be getting some quality stock from Lex and Lady Maria. That's everything that's been happening around here lately. Smile
