I take riding lessons every week at a ranch that I found while driving to my friend's house. I'm not a horse owner, but i've always wanted a horse since I was little. My family thinks we have the money, and we could board the horse at the stable. I've even found a perfect horse, a 9 year old QH gelding named "Prince" My lesson instructor is selling him, and she said she'd even lower the price for me. Sounds like everything set, right? Well there's one thing- My dad says no. Not a real reson why, but its like every time I bring up getting a horse the only thing he says is NO. Any advise on what I could say to convince him???

Let me get this straight, everyone in your family but your dad agrees?

What are his reasonings for saying no?

Maybe he thinks that the horse is going to be a lot more money than he thinks. You should lay out a budget and really sit down to talk with him, with your mom too. Maybe take him to your stable and show him the horse. He might be hooked! Also how long have you been riding? If you haven't riden for that long maybe he thinks that it's too much too soon. Good Luck!
