I got my National Show Horse mare when she was just under a year old from a breeder. She's now 8. I heard an ad on the radio that was saying to come and check out the foals at this ranch, so my dad took my sister and I one day. We weren't really looking to get a horse, we already had two.
We got to take a tour of the ranch and look at all the horses, which was so cool. Here's their website. www.elcaminoranch.com
We ended up buying a saddle. When we got home we tried it on our horses and it didn't fit very well, so my dad said he would take it back to the ranch. This was around Christmas. A week later we were all out back cleaning stalls when my neighbor ran by and yelled "Your horse is here!" I gave him a funny look and he kept running, so I thought, I bet he meant he got a horse, so I went out front and there's my dad holding a little chestnut filly. I started thinking that other man looks a lot like the stallion manager of that ranch we went too. Then I realized that was the little filly we fell in love with!
She was just the sweetest little thing. In fact when we were looking at her the trainer showing us around said her name is EC Sweet Dreams and she sure does fit it. She is by the stallion American Dreams(he had to be put down the year my filly was born).
