The pictures may look good, but they really aren't. when the manufacturers pack all these extra things into their phones the quality of each item goes down. I prefer my digital camera.

I am so sorry i haven't logged in for over 2 months but I have been very busy with ozzie. He has gained all of his weight back and his muscles are now in their best shape. Last month I got on him and he didn't react badly at all. I continued my work with him and he is now a jumper. The funny thing is, I discovered that he is a trick horse too. I was brushing his chest and he bent down to look at me, he was bowing. I went in front of him and bowed to him to see what he would do. HE BOWED BACK, HOW COOL!!!I didn't even teach it to him. Currently I am teaching him to pick the hand with a carrot in it and lift his lip to indicate that is the one he chose. Tomorrow, Ozzie and I are going to a jumper competition. I hope is is good with the crowd. I am confident he will win because he can jump 5'5". Hopefully there are no super horses that can jump over 6'. He seems to enjoy jumping, he has never stopped or ran out on a jump. He his very confident and the win tomorrow should boost his self-esteem more than it is already. I love him so much, he is like my dream horse.

We won the competition!!!! And even better Ozzie jumped over a 6' jump!!!I didn't even know he could do that, never tried before. it was weird, this girl on a beautiful chestnut was against me and it was a jump off. the only jump left was a 6' jump and her horse refused and she fell off(she was ok). I really thought that ozzie wasn't going to do it but he did. He touched the rail but barely so it didn't fall. man was he sweating. I gave him a day off the next day and we started working again. He is such a good boy.

I'm really sorry but I rather keep that info private. No offense but I heard that creeps can hunt you down if they know your state. sorry but believe me, it is really in the country.

I know some people who are reading this are like "he can jump 6', yeah right. that is such a lie." but you have to remember that ozzie is a huge horse, he is like 17.6hh or something (haven't measured exactly yet) and just the other week I found ozzie's papers and he is a QH/hanoverian cross. Weird huh, i was surprised too. I thought it was weird that he could jump so high so I went out on a search for his bloodlines. Turns out his father was a hanoverian and his mother was QH. He has the body and behavior of a hanoverian and the ears and head of a QH. that's weird. but i guess since ozzie is a mix i can't enter him into any of those pro-competitions, i will just have to settle for cometitions in the region. Ozzie is very good at what he loves and, believe me or not, when he jumps it feels like he is flying.

From my understanding, I thought horse measurements went in 14, 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, 15, 15.1, 15.2, 15.3, 16... and so on. I used to work with horses and that's always the way that we measured... and on my measuring tape to measure at the shoulder, that's how the increments go. Is my tape out-dated or..?

I'm sorry if I came off as nasty, but I do have another question. What registry allows you to have papers for a cross (other than AQHA registering QH/TB crosses and the occasional BS paint, or APHA registering BS paints) that shows the pedigree? Or is it a breeder made pedigree? I'm mostly familar with QH and the occasional PH, so I'm slightly confused.
(I used to break horses for western riding in East Sparta and Minerva, Ohio. We had some real beautiful horses out of foundation stock and some new blood, too. We also got the occasional cross in... most memerable and interesting was a red roan overo horse with belgian in him. He only stood about 14.3-15.0 hands, but he weighed almost a ton. He looked like a Belgian Paint with Basset Hound legs.)

I found it. I was going to edit and add onto my first post, but it won't allow me.
Anyway... 1 hand = 4 inches. So, I was correct in my 15.0, 15.1, 15.2, 15.3, 16.0... etc.
A 17.6h horse would be 19 hands, I believe..?
You should really invest in a horse tape. They're only a few dollars at the tack shop.
I was researching online (the best I could, as this computer is supposed to be for my partner's school and many things are blocked), but the largest horse on record was 21 or 22 hands or something along those lines. I believe it was a Shire, unless the information I found was out-dated.

Many horse registries allow for cross breeds. Horse registries are a bit like dog registries. You have the reputable ones like the AKC, CKC and then all the "other" ones that aren't as notable. You'll find Half Quarter, Half Arab, Half Draft, Part Blooded etc. You'll also find many registries based on color rather then breed as well.
