CKC makes me angry. Mastadanes... PekaPoos... ugh. Gives me a headache. (I reread my posts and I sound so nasty. I work 3rd shift and couldn't sleep all day... so I was slightly cranky and it definately showed...

Excuse my typing, that was supposed to be UKC, not CKC. CKC is one of the "less reputable" registries. Bad news

CKC makes me laugh. I like to call people and give them crap. I'm a bit spiteful. Let's say I call a Mastadane breeder.

"Hello, I was inquiring about your dogs... but I was wondering why you're charging so much for a mixed breed."

"Ma'am, they're not mixed breed. The father is AKC Dane and the mother is AKC Mastiff. The pups are registered CKC Mastadane as the ad says."

"Ummmm... not to be rude, but breeding a Great Dane to a Mastiff is mixing... is it not?"

And then the sparks fly, I hit 'em with some of my lovely knowledge on genetics and use big words that their dumb BYB minds can't understand... and then I call a few other friends to give 'em Hell, too.

I love UKC Great Danes. They are so much truer to type and original form than most AKC Danes these days. More often, they're breeding for height (which is great), but they're losing mass and looking like greyhounds. Nothing against greyhounds, but they're GREAT DANES.
