Let me start by saying I am not a big fan of violence in any form. However I have watched all of your episodes. I just watched your Israel event. Of all of the location and fight types that seem to be the most truthful in that it was not really a technique driven style as it was use anything at your disposal style. In the US it would probably be consider dirty fighting but truthful fighting. In some of your venues there is a mental aspect that I don't think is part of the Israel style, at least not in the same way. Their mental aspect is kill or be killed. I was wondering how you felt about that style? Neither of you seem to be able to engage in the (dirty) style. It seem to me that you were both approaching it with the thought that you used in your other styles. The more technique and mental driven styles.
you're absolutely right. it was tough for me to ever set aside the rules and convince myself that it was ok to cause as much harm as possible to someone who didn't deserve it. haha i've been in street fights where we fought much fairer than krav maga guys do in training!!! but as far as realism goes, you can't argue with what they do...will it produce injuries, most likely, will it produce people who are prepared for just about anything...yup.
Hey Doug..First thanks for responding to me I appreciate that. As for fighting style I would have to say the most effective type would have to be krav maga. While the other styles are very fluid and require a mental aspect that krav doesn't. I found that test that they put Jimmy through when he was simulating walking down the street and being attacked from behind and by surprise was to me as far as a defense mechanize go the most effective. In your other styles the techniques were very formal and let’s face it in a real fight there is not going to be any civility. But neither here nor there you guys did a great job and it was enjoyable seeing you both interacting with each other and with the locals. Being a traveler myself meeting locals and getting to see how others live is to me the greatest education a person can get. Congratulation to you both for a job well done.
Hey Doug what did you like better Kajukenbo or Krav Maga and did you notice that they both required multiple fighters but you said that you felt confident in taking on 10 guys in Kajukenbo so you weren't as confident with krav Maga in there training method?
