hi dave . football update coming your way . well as well as wining the english preier league we also won the champions league in moscow a couple of nights ago . i missed a lot of the match a guess what day my english boyfriend decides to pay me a visit ! thank god i have a mufc text alert on my mobile .

we took the lead but chelsea equalised and thus it satyed unto the end of the match , though both sides could have scored more then they did , and through half an hour extra time . towards the end of extra time there was a bit of handbags at 10 paces . one of the clelsea players dider drogba (a nasty fecker if ever there was one ) ended up giving an open handed slap to our player vidic right infront of the referee . he was shown a straight red card and sent off . it was too close to the end of extra time to make too much difference . it went to peanlties . we won 8-6 . i think drogba might have scored one and maybe made it 807 but i think that we will never know . once you are sent off you can;t take part in a penalty shoot out . the joy in my house was incredible as dad and i were cheering at the tv !

hi jeremy. i never realised it was shown in america . they say that the reason Football is not a big sport with you guys is that no other sport shown in America could go on for 90 minutes without a goal being scored !

sorry i could'nt get back to you yesterday the site froze on me . every time i replied to this post i got told the server on the site was'nt working !

Hello Linda !!!

They were just showing a few Highlight segments of the match. And as soon as they showed them, I immediatly thought of you. So when I saw this thread, I had to give congrats to you. I know several Irish contractors, that were VERY pleased with the outcome.

Take it Easy, Linda !!! Congrats again.

Hey Linda-

Mike and I were having lunch in a brewpub in Colorado just as the game started, and of course we thought of you! We had to leave only seven minutes into the match. I'm glad Man U won!

But, Up The Hammers!

Linda, for me there is one extremely silly reason why "metric football" (my name for it Wink) is hard to follow and get enthusiastic for:

The clock goes the wrong way.

Toldja it was a silly reason. All the clocks in North American sports count down: imperial football, basketball, hockey. Metric footie counts up and for some reason that totally throws me off.

That does not preclude me from admiring the players individually, of course.

Congratulations on Man U's victory! Cheers!

thanks dave does that mean mike knows i exist as well ? how cool is that Smile to be honest i would'nt have expected it .

in all honesty i did'nt see the match fomr the start . my boyfriend ( also called mike by the way here in after refered to as mike c ) is over fomr england . guess which day he chossse to see me on . the only day i wanted to be at home !

i see what you mean taz . one of the reasons i think that clocks in metric football don;t count up is that you can add stoppage time at the enof both halves to make sure exactly 90 minutes was played . the game sometimes has to be atoped for injury treatment and suvh like . the time it takes to do this is added on at the end and called stoppage or injury time .

i mean to mention jeremey i though of you yesterday i was driving behinad a jcb tractor . the strange things that make me think of people . i bet your irish contrators were happy . manchester untied is the most widely supported football team here in ireland . a lot of irish players played for them over the years .

Linda,

Thats one of the TOP reasons I like this Mud Room. Can't help but think of the members here, when something catches your eye. I'm GLAD Mike and Dave, were able to catch a glimpse of your team in action also.

Take it Easy, Linda
