Was just curious - I was watching a show tonight that was dated as made in 2008, and it had Troy on - it was the compilation of shows about food-related jobs - and I thought he had left the show in order to be lead cameraman on another Discovery show. Has he returned to work on "Dirty Jobs" (as I'd not seen that other show on for awhile, and wasn't sure if it was still on), or was I mistaken? All of the crew on the show are great - and brave! - I was just wondering, Troy seems a likeable guy, it'd be nice if he were back on the show. Thank you.

Hi Lisa, welcome to the boards!
Troy was filling in for Chris Whiteneck while Chris was up in Alaska doing some camera work for Deadliest Catch.
I guess "Really Big Things" is no longer in production but I'm sure that the good folks over at Pilgrim have Troy at the top of the list for any projects that come up.
Hopefully Dave will keep us in the loop as to what projects Troy is involved in (hint, hint Dave).

Yes, Really Big Things is no longer in production. Troy came back as second camera for us when Chris Whiteneck went back to Deadliest Catch for a few months.
However, Chris has taken another job, as Catch has just ended and Troy is back forever...

Troy is back forever? That sounds a bit ominous... do you have him tied up in your basement or something? Did DJ make him an offer he couldn't refuse?! And don't tell me that Chris decided to chuck it all and become an Alaskan fisherman because he loved it sooooo much! Hey, stranger things have happened. Fleur

No, Fleur, Chris is potentially going to be on a show called Storm Chasers. Adrenaline junky perhaps?

Storm Chasers? I think that's a show I watch on National Geographic Channel, which is really quite good. You may be talking about something else though.

Well, okay Dave, but my guess was much more creative you've gotta admit! Fleur

Fleur, your answer WAS better. I guess not everyone *ahem, Dave, ahem* shares your sense of humor! Kay, I've seen that show, too. It's really fascinating. Hopefully the weight of Chris's camera will keep him "grounded." (Look, up in the sky, it's a Whiteneck!!) Liz

I guess alligators, red ants, and boat tippings are just too tame for Chris.
Thanks Dave, Kathy

Holy smokes! That means that Whiteneck will be in MY part of the country this spring. Oh, crap, I hate storms...but if one comes my way and that armored car goes by, I may just do a little storm chasing myself! *ponders* I should send him a batters helmet.
