Hi Dave! You mentioned in Laurann's thread that you finished filming two months early. How did you ever manage to do that? I've also seen several photos of you on top of tall buildings during filming of DJ. How did you manage to get over your fear of heights? And one more question. It looks like my husband may be working out in LA (temporarily) for the next three or four months. My daughter and I may fly out over Thanksgiving to join him, and I was wondering if you could recommend a restaurant we could go to for Thanksgiving dinner. Unless, of course, Mrs. B would have a little extra turkey for us! Liz

My fear of heights stems from how I am supported when high. Standing on my own two feet on solid metal is not so bad- especially when the building is not moving. Dangling from a cable that is dangling from a cable is a whole different story!
Sure, it was still un-nerving, but looking through a camera lens helps a lot for some reason, as I did when we shot, obviously. I think it tricks the brain a little, as the reality of it is diminished through the viewfinder or display screen (my theory is that the number of lines and scan ratio is so much different than the naked eye it changes the perception). A friend of mine pointed out this phenomena about 9 years ago when he shot atop the Golden Gate Bridge- he was scared to death until he started shooting with the camera to his eye. I have noticed this many time myself in the intervening years. Interestingly, there was some off handed line in the Blair Witch Project that touched on the same thing. I remembered it and it stuck out when I saw the movie since my friend mentioned a few years prior!
As for T-Day, I have no idea as I always dine in. Sorry!

Interesting. I'll have to try that sometime and see if it works for me. On the other hand, when I'm in a moving car and looking through a camera's lens it makes me nauseous. And if I'm on a Ferris wheel, or similar carnival ride, and I close my eyes I feel like I'm falling. Strange how our perception can be changed so easily. Liz P.S. Save me a drumstick!
