In the concrete wall episode you used 8 cameras to film the falling concrete wall and destroyed one because no one took into consideration that falling flat things float forward quite a bit And in most episodes the cameras get soaked or covered in ash or other dirt - what do you do with them afterwards,do they clean up okay or do throw them away? Also what is that handy model/make Mike uses sometimes? Kiki

We do destroy cameras every now and then. We by the small "lipstick" cameras with the intention of mangling them, and they only cost $100 or so.
Cameras have broken down due to water damage and the like. Depending on the extent of damage, we will repair or buy anew.
Mike uses a Sony camera that is most likely not on the market anymore. It records to tape and that is almost impossible to find nowadays.
Thanks for watching, Dave

Hmmm I know of where you could get at least 3. But I think Steve would be very unhappy if they came up "missing".

Thanks for the reply Dave! And lipstick cameras? Seriously? That's quite a girly name but I am guessing it's because of their shape...which of course could look like a million other things, but I am not suggesting anything... @ Wendy, I don't know who Steve is or if that was an "offer" but thank you anyways. Actually, I have recently bought me a Mini DV cam as Europe is a little behind they are still selling them in the shops and slowly phasing them out this year. Good to know Discovery Channel still uses tape

I have watched the Alligator episode today and there was indeed water damage but not just to the equipment but the crew also I should have rephrased "how many accidents does the crew have per season" Hope you all are well and stay well!
