Hi Everyone,
I am trying to ID one of the birds that comes to our feeder. I have checked on several web sites but haven't been able to find it. This bird has a black body and a very shiny dark blue head. It is medium in size. We live in MA. Thanks.

Dear Tumeria,

If the bird has white on the wings but not fully, it is a Magpie, or haw ever spelt, if not she/he is a bluebird of a darker type.

No white anywhere and too large for a bluebird. They are also very aggressive. I thought it was a cowbird at first but they have brown heads not shiny dark blue. I will check out the other bird you mentioned (haw ever spelt)Thanks

With the help of some friends, I have solved the mystery. The birds are common grackles. Thanks

Hi,

I just found this list.

I feed the birds where I live and the other day while watching them eat I saw a bird that was a bight blue on the top and the bottom was orange the head looked like a chickadee....

I thought it might be a bluebird(I have never had one at my feeded or seen in in RL),but the head didnt make sence to me.

Do you know what kind of bird that might be?
