Why is this show on Discovery? It belongs on one of the other trash channels that play "reality" shows. I would like to see this replaced with something more useful.

I love this show. I am upset because it seems not to be coming on at its regular time. Those who don't like it can surely find something else to watch for an hour. Some of us truly love this show and want it to be on at a predictable and accessible time.
ok i think it could do better on another channel but the thing i like this show a lot! I think its funny and original. I don't know why people call it trash cause its not!
Cash Cab may be slightly like a reality show and some of the questions may be rooted in popular culture, but a large part of the content is educational content. There are plenty of questions related to science, literature and mathematics. Isn't that the embodyment of the Discovery Channel. Plus, it's fun to see some of the idiots that go Strike 1, Strike 2, Strike 3, they get kicked to the curb and you express how much better you could have done.
Who cares what cable station it's on so long as it is on somewhere. If I could bounce shows off of TDC or TLC this certainly would not be the first one. 24 hrs of deadpan documentaries, and I love docs as a rule, may not be a good business idea and it might lead to larger viewership but only TDC knows that answer. Let's hope uptights don't bail because of 1 show they don't like.
I dislike Cash Cab. Yes, it is true. But don't think of me as a bad guy. I'm sure there are things you don't like that I like. I dislike the show mainly because of the host. Yes, it is true. I think his jokes stink like rotten meat, he makes too many weard faces that freak me out, and he also makes weard voices that also freak me out. I think he should look at all the other successful trivia shows and character himself after their hosts. Who Wants to be a Millinionare was immensily popular because of Regis Philbin. Regis does not make weard faces or stupid voices (he also does not freak me out). Another problem with the show (as with most trivia shows) is the monotomy. Every minute of the show is like every minute before. Cash Cab should look to other successful game shows like The Price is Right for idieas. The Price is Right uses diffrent game for it's contestants. The show should think of diffrent mini games for its show. Cash Cab should also take from Jepordy in that there should be categorys to chose from. It's just better that way. And lastly, as with most things in life, the show would be so much better if the contastants got hurt whenever they got a question wrong.
i don't like cash cab either, i don't like game show period. the idea of watching OTHER people win money, i just hate it. i have watched the show a few times, and it bored me. just my opinion.

You clearly must not have any concept on reality and what it is the american public wants to see. Who wants to see the same old "run of the mill" game show hosts anymore. To say that you would prefer to watch a complete tool like Bob Barker over Ben is completely boggling. Regis Philbin, yeah, he's allright, but does he make for great T.V., give me a break. You seem to be "freaked out" by just about everything". Does this reply "freak you out" cause i'm making a funny face right now.
I like the show. My husband and I like to watch different things, but we both enjoy Cash Cab. It is low budget, but original, and watching the contestants cracks us up.
I agree with mouthchard..dcson3 would be pretty messed up were he hurt because of every little mistake. I like cash cab because it's original and entertaining, despite the naysayers. beyond that, it's physically possible to not watch discovery while cash cab is on. there are plenty of other shows, crappy or not, to be watched at that time. what a novel idea.
Most people with little or no intelligence wouldn't like this show. So, you know who you are & so do we! Ben bailey is an excellent host.He keeps it going with his light-hearted ,PG13 jokes. This is a family channel people. And his voice disguises are hilarious. Especially since NYC is the melting pot of so many ethinic backrounds. Also, he knows the city like the back of his hand!! He is NOT creepy or what ever your negative comments were. This show is only for the "smart people" or people who want to be smarter!!Who wouldn't want the chance to win free money and get a ride at the same time!!!Oh thats right the stupid people.....who wouldn't be able to answer any questions correct!! Oh and by the way, Discovery is a learning channel. Which is what this show is about... learning & discovering facts!! DUH to all the idiots that don't like this show & say it belongs on another channel. Change the channel to something more your speed... like SPIKE, or E, channels for dummies!!

I think it's a good show and it should stay on the air. It's what I watch before scrubs, and I think it's at least better than watching "how it's made"
Plus I like it because it lets you get a ton of random knowledge.
hh99, you hit the nail right on the head. The thread starter will probably disappear like he/she did in another forum when challenged to elaborate. You know, there are shows on DC that I don't like but I wouldn't waste my time going to that forum to bash the show. It makes no sense to me. I just don't watch those shows. WOW! that's so easy, I don't understand why it doesn't catch on. I guess certain types are gluttons for punishment.
First, I like the Cash Cab. Not love, but like. However, I do agree with others here that it doesn't belong on The Discovery Channel. It should move to The Game Show Channel (a perfect match) or something like The Spike Network. There's nothing close to discovery about the show.
I thought it didn't belong on Discovery at first as well. I actually had to double check the channel when I first came across it.
The fact of the matter is that discovery is one of the largest TV programmers. They own more channels that any other one company, that I'm aware of, and have been quite successful as the leader.
They took the show on after taking their demographic into consideration. It just might fail on Discovery, and end up on the game show channel, and if that happens Discovery will have one less viewer when it is on.
I've always enjoyed trivia, and like the format of the show. It is quick, to the point, and doesn't have a lot of fluff. I enjoy showing my smarts off to my g/f, and not having to hear an endless onslaught of corny jokes while having a blonde bimbo bounce around. Don't get me wrong, I like blonde bimbos, but if I want to see them I can turn the channel to just about any other network at any given time.
