Yes it is, but it is due to the sun warming up and not so much the increase in CO2.
I'm wondering if we will enter a cooling faze before CO2 levels start dropping.

Hi. I too believe global warming is false. Well at lease the media part. I believe we go through trends. Warming and cooling. Ironically, We happen to be going through a warming trend while a lot of people are in to radical ideas and being liberal. I believe this green house gas thing is a little over the top. Yes it has gone up but the affect that comes it is so minor that it canceled out by other factors. However that does not mean lets pollute and make as much trash as we want.

I agree that it is all bunk. The problem I see is that this country is so very polarized. If your a democrat your pro-life, if your liberal you believe in global warming, if you don't believe in man-made global warming you don't care about the environment. I could go on and on and on and on, but I hope you catch my drift. What happened to common-sense which at one time I thought most Americans had in common.
Last month, my wife and I traveled to Alaska, and we saw the glaciers there. We walked on them and were informed how they were receeding; the Mendenhal Glacier is a prime example. We actually saw ice breaking off the Hubbard Glacier, perhaps Alaska's largest. Anyone who believes warnings of global warming is false should travel to Alaska and see for themselves.
I totally agree with all of you that they are blowing this global warming out of context. Let's first start off to say that what is happening is Earth's natural axis around the sun. Every 18,000 to 20,000 years the Earth rotates around the sun. If you look at the records we are about in the 18,500 year of rotation. There is nothing that we can do to stop the Earth's natural orbit but we can find ways to adjust. As you can tell we have gone through many Ice Ages again these last for about 10,000 years. I live in Florida and it makes me mad that we are spending millions of dollars on beach erosion when this is going to keep happening. As they have said in the past Florida will be under water again and that has to do greatly with the Earth's nearing the sun and the glaciers and ice caps melt and water has no where to go but up. Theorologically, we had a time where global warming happened in a 10,000 year period time but I believe that coincides with the meteor that hit the Earth and knocked the Earth off it's natural axis causing a early then expected ice age. You guys are silly. Of course the earth's climate involves cycles of warming and cooling, in fact that pattern affects wind patterns and water currents and basically everything on earth. You guys should know that changes in water temperature require incredibly large amounts of energy, the cause for the rise of 0.9F in ocean temperature in 40 years can only be explained if greenhouse gas emissions are responsible. 11 of the 12 warmest years have occurred between 1995-2006. 2005 was the warmest on record.

Normal global glacial conditions in the past were caused by variation in the interception and absorption of solar radiation due to the Milankovitch cycles of way the Earth rotates on its axis around the sun. However we are no way NEAR the time frame for another natural ice age, the last ice age only ended 10,000 years ago. In the past million years, the Earth experienced a major ice age every 100,000 years.
Yeah, the next ice age is inevitable but we are speeding up that process IMMENSELY. Greenhouse gases act as a blanket keeping the heat trapped. It is evident that the ice is melting all over the world. Take Glacier National Park, from 1850 the 150 glaciers have melted down to 37 glaciers that are only 1/3 the size they used to be, by 2030 they will need to think of another name for this park as there will be no glaciers left. When the polar ice caps melt, they will dump an enormous amount of cold dense water into the ocean, thus disrupting the thermohaline ocean cycle which control the currents. When the ocean's currents stop moving the oceans will freeze over causing the next ice age.
The next ice age will not be due to natural rotation cycles but due to man-made global warming. Global warming at the rates it is going currently is NOT normal and NOT natural.

I'm replying to what ourverdue said. How would you know that? How do you know that ice ages only come every 100,000 thousand years? Has humanity been around that long? If we are going to enter an ice age what happened to warming? You can't play both sides.

Okay. First of all you have one major mistake in your statement. You stated that a comet hit the Earth. Now, don't get me wrong but you just can't go around blabbing theorizations like a moron. Altough accepted by the general public, you can't say that that is fact. You are saying that all of the other possible theories in the world of how this phenomena was started, are false? You can't say that just because the general public beleives it. However you are correct in stating that the government is being unreasonable. There is no reason to spend millions of dollars of national funds on Florida's coastal beaches erosion. We could be spending this money on Ethanol production. Not to mention the vehicles needed to consume it once it tis created.

Like others I was green before it became a religion. supposed concensus DOES NOT exist. There are many very reputable climatologists who discount the anthropomorphic climate change hypothesis.
Yet because of political feel good idiocy we cut off our nose to spite our face. And the media especially ABC/Discovery are complicit in this by pushing green topics IN our faces on a nightly basis..
The moronic part of this is, that one the "supposed" solutions to the energy dilemma we face is the worst thing we are doing, Ethanol and Biodiesel has caused substantial increases to food prices and thus starving hole populations around the globe.
The US has oil, in areas off the shore of California, Florida and Alaska, We have Shale Oil, Coal all of which can provide us with long term CLEAN energy for centuries. Technologies are available to utilize shale oil and CTL technologies well below $50/bbl.
Environmental insanity has stifled our capacity to self sufficiency through ecologic lunacy.
