Hi, I'm friends with Gordon "Snakeman" Cates and was searching for his show that he did with you. I was thinking about my backyard habitat and it's a beauty. I have 10 acres of old growth bottomland swamp on a hill in North Central Florida. It has a huge pond that overflows to create a swamp. As it's the only standing water for miles we have a huge population of wildlife. Deer, fox, bobcat, bats, corn snakes, yellow rats, 5 lined skinks, salamanders, turkey plus the turtle and fish in the pond. What I'm trying to to is to establish a nursery for baby turtles and fish to grow with native shore plants. I just got done with a multiyear project to remove noxious exotic water vegetation, water milfoil, hyancynth, water lettuce and duckweed were totally taking over the pond surface It is 100 by 20 meters and 3 meters deep. After a few years of siening, netting and the introduction of 16 Amur carp there are now zero weeds. I'm trying to figure out how to introduce aquatic plants with out having them overrun the place. The property is totally natural with the constant removal of exotics over a ten year period. If you want to do a show Gordon could star in it. We do have a few Eastern Diamondbacks and Cottonmouths on the property so watch where you step.
