I have a problem. I live in Springfield, MA. I have this huge backyard with lots of trees. It is partial shade. The cats will wait at the bottom of any bird feeder that I put out. Sometimes there are as many as three cats in my yard at once! I want to plant some bushes and other plants to help the birds but I am not sure what to do.We have berries bushes and other bushes on the front of the property so it has become a haven for wildlife from insects to birds (orioles, cardinals, titmouse, blue jays, swallows, woodpeckers, wrens, nuthatchs and so on), squirrels, chipmunks, possoms, and wild rabbits. The problems is the cats, everyone around me lets their cats out. They all find their way to my yard to chase away or eat my habitat friends. How can I offer a habitat to the birds et all in a safe way?
