Wow! I can't believe Flower is gone. She was such a strong leader and such an important part of the show. How will the Whiskers go on without her?

Don't know about others but it won't let me in, disconnects me from the internet everytime.

I was so upset when Carlos died. I am really in a funk.

So sad about Flower! What a courageous lady she was. Poor thing, she died trying to save her pups.

When or where can I find the live chat on Meerkat Manor?

I know they cannot interfere but if I would have been there, I would have saved Flower!

I wasn't able to access the live chat. I would have liked to chat with the producer. Maybe there are so many trying to access the chat, I don't know.

About trying to save Flower, maybe because she was snake bitten on her head there might not have been anything they could have done. Nature is hard to watch sometimes. Her face was so swollen. I felt so bad.

Can someone please explain to me what happened to flower? The phone rang right when all of them got back to their home and they realized the snake was down there.

My heart was broken. Poor Flower..what a grand leader and role model. Was she not a great Mom!Having the courage to divide a close knit family so each could survive and then facing death so bravely. I will miss you, Flower.If I would have seen it coming I would not have watched!

Were her pups saved?

They showed one peeking from the burrow.

It didn't say if the pups survived, although the preview of the next episode showed one of Flower's pups emerging from the burrow. So maybe there's hope. I really hated to see this one...I just had an aching feeling from the commercials this past week that something like this was going to happen. I'm just so heartbroken.

I'm pretty sure they were saved. I know that little Liz survived. What a precious little baby!!!!!

I can't even imagine what those working with these delightful creatures felt when Flower passed. They must have been devestated, working with them all these months. The probably knew each individual intimately...it was probably very traumatic for them to see and watch unfolding in right in front of them. The editing was merciful, though, and we didn't have to see all the worst of the terrible situation.

How did those working with the meerkats feel after this all happened? Any info regarding that? And how long have they been working with the group in the Kalahari?

Of COURSE meerkats go to heaven! Flower's crossed the Meerkats' Rainbow Bridge already and is watching down on the Manor as we speak.

Antarcticdream, I was able to get into the live chat for the last few minutes, and Mick the producer of the series, wrote that everyone at Animal Planet is just devistated at the loss of Queen Flower...I just wonder how long ago this actually happened...does anyone have information regarding this???

The producer said it was around January 27, 2007

The live chat ended about 30 minutes ago, it was just an hour long. Sad to say, I guess they couldn't let Mick be overwhelmed by such a huge response. FYI the entire chat transcript will be posted on Flower's memorial page early next week, so you can look for it there.

The show started out very well..loved the saving of little Axel. Flower was a hero to the end.
She was taken too soon.
I'm glad they didn't show her suffering, but it seemed to happen so quick. She was in the burrow with the others and the snake, they showed her out of the burrow bent over..said she'd been bit..showed her face which appeared swollen, and the announcement she was gone.

I can't put in words my sadness over losing Flower. Also saddened that it was preventable.
I doubt she could have been saved after being snakebit on the head.
But I wish they would have stopped the snake from entering the burrow.
I love Meerkat Manor, but it won't be the same without Flower.
RIP sweet little girl, our desert Rose.

I still couldn't get into the chat. Oh well. I did email at one time to see when the 3rd season would be starting, and was told that filming, editing, etc., can often take up to a year to put it all together. I don't know if that's a true indicator, but Flower's death could have happened some time ago.

Flower's death; I am devastated and cried for half an hour. It was so sad to see her go, she was a great leader and mother of her family. I am saddened by the lose of her. The good deed she did by bringing Axel all the way back to her home and then to die saving her own babies. I just can't believe she is gone.
