Almost missed this episode due to the time change, but I caught the last half of the show, just in time to see Nikita evict most of her babysitting staff. Those poor girls! Hard enough to be a female in the human world at times, but it's harder for a meerkat. I was rejoicing over Rocket Dogs two wee pups; just what I want to see--pups, pups, pups!!!

I loved this episode! It was a little sad to see all of the evictions from Nikita, but Rocket Dog has her pups!!

Rocket Dog finally gave birth to her two little ones Let's all hope they're healthy enough and lucky enough to make it to adulthood. It must have been a great relief to RD, considering what has happened to her previous litters. Nikita sure does run the show in the Commandos. Those other females must have been either pregnant themselves or have had a decent chance of being a threat to her pups. It's sad, though, to think about what could happen to the Commandos when the Whiskers or another group decide to throw their weight around. I wonder how things are going to progress between Zorro and Nikita. I'm hoping their bond will grow stronger and she will respect him a bit more.

Gee only 2 pups. Hope they make it. Nikkta wasn't thinking too well either. Who who babysit. Someone has to get to come back!

Loved that we finally get to see some pups. Although there's only 2 that's ok that means that they will get twice the food from RD.
Nikta was really throwing her weight around, evicting 8 out of 10 daughters, talk about raging hormones. I just hope her actions wont hurt the Commandos though I'm sure after she has her pups she'll allow some of them to return to the family.
Great episode especially the new pups.

Maybe my memories going.. or I'm just that excited for RD!! But OMG I dont recall ever seeing pups that soon or so small before So very tiny and their little eyes still closed. What a great burrow shot!! WTG RD and welcome to the world Beaker and Nugget!! With all the evictions at the Commandos all one of those other Whisker boys has to do is run off and start his own little group At least with such a large group of evictees I would guess the girls have a better chance at survival. Meanwhile it'll be interesting to see how things progress once Nikita's pups are born. I'm guessing no news is good news for Sophie but based on the preview for next week she's surviving well. I have to admit I was a tad shocked (and happy) to see who they introduced as the new Whiskers DM And then there is Axel, sweet Axel, he is growing up so big and strong and so much like Mitch.. I only hope that someday he realizes he's not really related to those girls and becomes the true DM of the Whiskers! My only complaint regarding tonight is - how can we have a Tommericial WITHOUT TOM??? And it was far too short!!! Too many other commericals and not enough TOMmericial!! OK.. I'm gonna go watch it again Enjoy!

Boy talk about getting crazy in your pregnancy! Nikita really lost it.
Yes Congrats to RD...just 2 wee pups, but oh so precious to the Whiskers and to us.
No Tom, but the sight of those newborns made up for it. If they are 2-3 inches long when they first come out of the birthing burrow, how tiny are they newborn? OMG Leaves me breathless and full of wonder.

My only complaint about tonight's episode would be like IloveMitch wrote no mention of Sophie. That along with nothing on the Aztecs or Zaphod. Hopefully we'll get to see them next week, hard to believe that this season is half over. Sure would love to see more than 13 episodes in a season, 26 would be nice.

Always overjoyed to see PUPS!!! Precious Nugget and Beaker are in the burrow, and Momma RD is finally able to be the DM her Momma taught her to be. Empress Nikita doesn't play!! Hope she hasn't set herself up for failure by running off the mature babysitters. Gotta give ol Zorro some respect - he's made his commitment and standing tall!! I still see Shakespeare in Mitch. What a mentor he is for Axel. He's proof that there are still some good Earthmen out there (just joking meerbros ) It just keeps getting betterer and betterer this season

Hello all,
I have to admit I am really loving the new season so much. So much hope.
Nikita sure is a tough little cookie. Maybe she will let the mks back in after she gives birth. In the mean while all you gal mks stay out her way.
I was really really happy to see RD's pups born.

PG Nikita didn't care if they were her daughter or sister they were on her hit list and she kicked out 8 females - however glad Rocket Dog had her pups.

ccatz I thought about that as I freeze framed the shot of them in the burrow. I'm guessing they can't be much bigger than the baby toe on ones foot. So very small and so very sweet with such a future on their wee little shoulders. Knowing what we know makes their existance all that much sadder and sweeter.

Wow, Nikita on a warpath! 2 or 3 evictions would have been unusual, but 8? that's actually a serious detriment to the strength of the group! hope it doesn't cost her. Goodness, what a toughie
Yaaaay RD!! pups at last! only 2 though? I'm hoping it wasn't all the action that took a toll on her. She looks so proud ^_^ way to go RD. the future is bright! I can't wait to see more of then next week
Axel and Mitch are quite a team. always sticking together and taking on tasks together. There is a definite bond between them ^_^
No sign of Goldie this week either ;_; hard to believe it's already episode 6! six weeks already! time is flying too darn fast

Tonight's episode just goes to show you that in the animal world, as with the human counterpart, raging hormones have taken over all good sense! Nikita wasn't thinking beyond her bulging belly when she ousted eight females. She apparently gave no thought to babysitters or suppplemental feeders. One can only hope she will come to her senses once the pups are born; but, we are talking about Nakita here, she runs to a different drummer. Zorro appears to be holding his own with Nakita and I wish him well. She isn't the easiest DF to have at a DM's side. He will need a lot of luck! Those teeny, tiny wee pups, Beaker and Nugget, were worth all of the trials and tribulations some of us have been through this season with the changes in the Manor. They were the only thing that was important for the moment. To our new mother, Rocket Dog, we want to tell you congratulations on the birth of your son and daughter. We wish them a long and healthy life! Our prayers are with you and your pups, Rocket Dog. I am pleased to say Sophie, although not shown in this episode, was mentioned in next Friday's episode.

Another good episode. MM is presenting the behaviors of DFs, and SFs during a pregnancy. Zorilla evicted the subordinate females (most of them pregnant) in order to protect her own pups (from infanticide). It's just self preservation. Successful DFs are effective at eliminating competition. Five of Zorilla's evicted daughters (and sister) are going to form new groups (Geckos, Kung Fu), so they will survive. Some of their names were changed, a couple of them in order to "honor" more celebrities. Rocket Dog's pups are going to survive; they are her only legacy. The underground camera images of the newborn pups were fascinating. RD is going to encounter a snake in the future, as next week's promos announced. Machu Pichu, Flower's son, and RD's brother, the Whiskers' natal DM was named "Mitch". The real Mitch left the area while roving.

Great show...Nikita really will have her hands full after she delivers. I hope she changes her mind and allows some back in.
Ahhhhhh..Bless your little heart Rocket Dog. You did it. You gave us babies to watch and grow up...I am sure that they will be just as precious as you are....God Bless you little one!

I have two words to shout out to start my review of this week's episode: YAY PUPS! I am so happy that Rocket Dog had 2 precious babies and when she came out of the burrow I could swear I heard Sean Astin commenting on her "decidedly slimmer" appearance. I am very worried about next week's episode. The thought of a snake coming anywhere near the Whiskers gives me the willies. Since Flower's death I have heard of multiple meerkats at the KMP who have sustained snake bites to the head and survived. While I am happy that they survive, it hurts so incredibly deeply to know that Flower did not. But I digress... Nikita sure was having a major testosterone surge. While it seems she went a bit overboard from a "strength in numbers" perspective, clearly her actions were being driven by the need for the immediate survival of her pups. Hopefully she will let some of the females back (ones who are obviously not pregnant) in the group to help after the pups are born. If I was a Whiskers male I sure would take that group of evicted females and head for another burrow. That would be a group of 9 right there. Once again I ask - where's Maybelline?! I'd even settle for a two second shot saying the Aztecs are ok. With all the mating that's been going on, (she raises her glass of prune juice) here's to a season bursting with adorable pups! WOW, what a show! This season has just been unprecidented in seeing all new things Meerkat! What a fantistic burrow shot of Rocket Dog and her precious babies! THe shots of RD's contractions was awesome too! I was so relived to see that she found a good burrow with great foraging! Rocket Dog has left her mark!
Nikita, wow, she was on a rampage like I have never seen before! All those poor girls! Lets hope she comes to her senses after she has her pups and lets some of them back in. Least it will turn around and bite her in the tail!
Mitch and Axel, how adorable to see Axel following in his big brothers foot steps.
I do hope we get to see Zaphod and Maybelline. Like QF, the next episode has got me worried too.

Poor Flower was older, she was toward the end of her pregnancy, the foraging was poor for a long time because of the drought, and her splinter group had to move constantly. The odds were against her when she was bitten. The circumstances were different for all these meerkats (including RD) that were bitten by snakes recently.

loved this episode! These are just getting better and better. The camera work is great. I loved seeing RDs little pups in the burrow.
I am a bit confused about the time change and the lack of the previous episode before this one. I really liked that feature. The more meerkats, the better!

I hope to see Zaphod and the Aztecs in the next few episodes. They have pretty much guaranteed that we will see Sophie next week, and that makes me happy, but I still miss Zaphod.
Mitch has some major shoes to fill, as did Rocket Dog. The thing is, he cannot give RD pups, since he is a brother. I sure hope that there is a DM out there somewhere who can help the Whiskers grow in numbers and prosper.
Axel may not be a full adult yet, but he is already making quite an impression. "Mitch" was digging and Axel tried to help. He doesn't know what he is doing quite yet, but he will improve with time. He is willing to do whatever RD needs him to do.
I wonder what will happen at the Commandos burrow. It seems as though Nikita is so afraid of infanticide that she's willing to kick out her potential babysitters, many of them her own daughters. That will mean more work for the rest of the group, including Zorro. He hasn't run away yet, which makes me believe that he will be a good and faithful DM. Good luck Zorro, you're gonna need it.

hlee, regarding Rocket Dog, could the fact that she does not impress you be something as simple as RD is not her mother and it has taken a while for her to "get her paws under her"? Remember, RD is still a bit of a novice in the DF role. It took time for her mother to grow into the role of DF, as well.

WhiteTail - OFF SUBJECT - I have noticed that your messages don't fill up the allotted space; could you be hitting the ENTER key when you get to the end of a line? If so, you don't need to because the line will wrap by itself. If that's not the cause, perhaps your computer is set to type no more than a certain amount of characters per line? Hope this helps. Another great episode from another great season so far.
Nikita is crazy. Got to love her but she is doing what she thinks is best for the Commandos.
Zorro is probably wondering what he got himself into.
But the highlight Rocket Dog has pups YAY!! I'm so happy for her. I was so worried when that eagle was flying overhead and was thinking she might be in trouble. And we got to see the pups. Great job RD!!!!

I loved the episode this week as I have all of them! I think Zorilla (Nikita) is a pretty kat despite the scar. I thought there was a lot of action and the camera work was great!
I loved seeing the tiny pups below groud with the babysitter. What a treat!
Thank you, AP! I just wish there were more episodes each season. It is always over too soon!

thanks, zettak & ilovemitch, i was hoping that the evictees would form a group. This may actually have been a good survival instinct on Nikita's part, if we have survival of her whole clan in mind. Wish more females had been kicked out with Mozart--sigh--i digress, too. Anyway, cool that they have each other. RD babies! Sooooo cute! And Axel--i didn't realize that he was still so young. Cute to see him following "mitch's" every move. Cannot BELIEVE the season is half over--it's only just begun! Waaaaa! Yea, you little meerkats, you go! Scared of next episode. Hoping Sophie can join another group, either Aztecs or Commando evictees. oh, the drama . . . .

This was another great storyline. Like last week, we got to see a little different take on meerkat life than just "love in the desert". Great to see "Mitch" back, even if it is not the real Mitch. He is like James Bond, a super hero who gets played by different actors. Axel is great. I hope they keep up with his storyline. It is just incredible how he gets adopted and then seems to show traits of great things to come.
Is "Nakita's" behavior normal? Evicting most of the females? I think she is in some serious need of prozac.
Great for RD. Wish she had more pups. We will have to follow them to see how they progress. Who was the "trusted babysitter" in the end?
We really need more than 13 episodes. The seaon is going too fast.
The one drawback for this episode, and season, is Stockard Channing. Sorry ladies and gentlemen, but she just is not a storyteller. I really liked her in the West Wing, but cant stand her as a narrator. Comcast has put up another 4 minute summary episode in the On Demand section with an unknown narrator. Watch that for some good narration.

a rover might hit the jackpot if he bumps into the evicted ladies, 8 females! then they just have to work out who is No 1, If only Zaphod knew or Mitch (the real one)
