OMG! I knew what was going to happen and how but I still cried, at least she died with knowing shee was accepted by Wilson and probably starting a new life. I liked the way Sean Astin said the final words of Mozart, very touching, now there is a Queen and Princess at the Rainbow Bridge.
Rest in Peace and Love Mozart

Goodbye, my little demigoddess. You were the most beautiful of them all... and my favorite. Tosca, Shakespeare, and now Mozart. The siblings are all gone. It's like an era has come to an end, and we will never know anything like them again.

Hail Sweet Mozart! You've been so stong and through so much the last few years. I knew you were going to survive through it all and I was right. YOU DID IT! YOU ARE LOVED AND YOU DID WHAT ANY STRONG FEMALE WOULD DO. YOU SURPASSED ALL ODDS, YOU SURVIVED ON YOUR OWN, YOU ARE THE WOMAN ALL OF US WISH WE WERE. THANK YOU AND MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU.

Oh my goodness, Next to Shakesphere, Mozart was one of my favorites. She manged to make it through so much in her lifetime. It hardly seems real that it would end like this. Farewell my lovely Mozart. You were loved and you will me missed. What a season for deaths, a sad part of true life on the manor. I'm almost glad there is only one more show to go before the season is over, not to such how much more I can take.

I am devastated by the loss of the sweetest meerkat on the Kalahari. poor poor little Mozart. Rest in Peace Sweetheart. Always in our hearts.

chi, Nice top 10 list once again. I tried to stay away from the spoilers too, but while cruising the boards someone had something like "MOZART DEAD" in the title of a thread, and I saw it by accident. I was surprised by the flashback fight scene, but I'm still puzzled how the much outnumbered Commandos (Vivians) could defeat the Whiskers. I just hope the Commandos (Vivians) aren't the next group to go the way of the Balrogs, Gattaca, and Starsky.

I don't know what to say. I'm really broken up about this.
Of all the Whiskers, I have to say that Mozart was the saddest story. She tried to assert herself early on by evicting another when she wasn't the dominant. She tried to form her family, but misfortune struck her at every turn. Her pups, Carlos, everything.
Her final day was a microcosm of her life; joy and heartache sewn too closely.
I have no idea if Meerkats mourn their dead, but I will take comfort in the fact that there was a Meerkat who is sad to see her go, who will actually feel her loss, because no one had ever before.
It's sad to see that the most charismatic and tragic of Flower's daughters is gone. Rest in peace, Mozart. It was a pleasure getting to know you.

What a sweet face Mozart had and such a caring Meerkat. She stood by Shakespeare in his time of need. She stood by Carlos in his time of need. She fed her sisters and brothers. She had two surving pups of her own. How I will miss her. Our Darlin Mozart has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge and greeted by her beloved Mother Flower and the rest of her family who have crossed over too. She is also greeted by her sweet pups who never got a chance to live. Goodbye lovely one. I will never forget you and I love you always. eruth

jshakes, yes, if you are referring to only the kats featured in the opening credits of season 1 -- only zaphod is left but we still have sophie, spud, jogu, mcmurphy... mitch, of course -- they won't let us forget him for a second...

I knew what would happen, steeling myself up for the tragic ending and then they show Wilson looking down the hill. I actually put my hand to the TV screen as if to stroke his face and comfort him. I'm a grown woman with a responsible job and I'm stroking the TV screen!
Poor Mo, did she ever get a chance to mother any of her surviving pups or was she exiled having to leave them behind?

hugs to all broken-hearted burrow mates (that would be everyone, i believe). yes, it is too sad that Mozart was looking for Wilson (heartache) when she should have been in her burrow to see him the next day. (heartache upon heartache). At least they shared a frightening night together, and if she died right away from a predator, maybe she died more content, expecting him back. i can only hope that is the case.
Thanks & sympathy to AP & KMP. I agree about the flashing ads, though. I actually yelled at one of them.

Such loses in such a short timeframe. I knew this was coming since it was posted on the Cambridge Research website and it still broke my heart. First Flower and now her daughter - if anyone had a chance, that little girl did. I was praying that she would run into Zaphod and go back to the Whiskers together.
I'm just glad that she spent some time with Wilson before her death.
Run home to mommy little girl and know that you will be missed!!!

How sad this was. RIP sweet Mozart. I have to wonder if her encounter with Wilson was not in her best interest. It's nice to know there was a Meerkat that cared for her enough to go back to her but I also wonder if it's what caused her death. She was surviving on her own for over a week, so they said. She let her guard down waiting for him to return to her and she paid the price with her life.

A tribute to my lovely Mozart...
True is the life that gives all and asks nothing in return.
True is the life where love dwells and hate seldom takes refuge.
True is the life that lives on the fringes of society yet still flourishes.
In Mozart, lived truth. And in us all, lives a bit of Mozart. But only a bit - or heaven would call us home to live amoung the truly pure.
I've never posted to these boards and probably never will again. But I felt I owed it to my sweet baby, Mozart. May you lay content in God's knowing arms. You were much too good for this world.

am i just crazy or what i don't know, but all week after watching the marathon and watching the dreadful episode tonight i keep seeing images in my mind of the little paw that was left of mozart kids that were killed only hours after being born, carlos not even having the strength to stand and putting his little head between his knees, the little kid who was left behind and his terrified little face, flower's swollen head, kinks lifeless body, and now poor poor mozart left alone to die....i think my mind has been scarred...i can't even remember any times that have made me smile...poor mozart... i don't know why i care so much about little creatures so far away but i do..call me crazy

I've only been faithfully watching MM since the night of Flower's death (I think I watched an episode when she was little b/c I remembered her) and I must say that I can't stand that every time I love one of them, they die. Poor Flower!! Poor, poor Mozart!!!! Tonight's episode's have GOT to be the worst...The Starsky's all gone, poor little Mozart dying alone. At least Flower's death was for a purpose and in service so I can feel better about it. but Mozart.

I am sooo very sad about Mozart. I loved Flower but Mozart was my favorite. She had such a tough life and managed to get through it all. I was so hoping she and Wilson would start a new life together. I'm sure she knows that in the end little Wilson cared and was returning to her. Poor little Wilson - what a tough lesson to learn. Rest in peace little Mozart. You will be sorely missed along with Shakespeare, Carlos, Len and Squiggy and of course Flower. It will take me a long time to get over Mozart's death. This death is tough to take. Rest in peace little Mozart, although you didn't know it alot of people loved you. nly earned it.

I am crying as much tonite as when Flower died. I'm at the point where I dread watching MM. It used to be a fun show - now it is filled with heartbreak. Of all the Whiskers, Mozart's was truly the saddest life of all. Yet, she was good and sweet and smart till the end, and yes, finally, someone appreciated her and all her wonderful qualities. I will miss her so much, but I am somewhat relieved that she is in a much better place, with her pups, her beloved and her mom. RIP princess

I am just so disappointed with Season 3. I don't know if I can take anymore of this. First, Carlos, then Flower, then Kinkajou, now Mozart, who by far, has been the most sweetest, resilient, brave, and caring meerkat I've ever seen. She was an angel and it's so sad that life has dealt her such a short end of the stick. I hope that she is in paradise for all animals in Heaven now, playing, and not having to worry ever again.
I hate good byes, I need more hellos. :-( I agree that what used to be a fun show to watch has now become depressing to watch. Am not sure if I want to see Season 4....

Thanks for the hug Ninj. Now that I can see. To be honest I thought the edisode was sugar-coated. It was not nearly as depressing as I thought it would be. Mozart looked healthier than I've seen her all year and I found a lot of joy in the fact that she found romance and it was one of her happier days. But most of all there was finally someone to look for her. Goodbye my favorite MK, I will miss you.

I knew this was coming and my heart has been breaking since I found out. The closer to the airing of tonights episode the more my heart was breaking. It was still hard to watch and I'm so so sad. I don't think anyone knew a jackle was going to kill Mozart. So how could anyone have intervened? I only hope she didn't suffer. I had forgotten about the fire and was also glad Mozart was not alone thanks to little Wilson. I would have really cried if she had been. I was always hoping my favorite meerkat Mozart would finally have a happily ever after ending. It was not meant to be. We were able to get to know a very special and well loved meerkat thanks to the researchers and camera crew. Mozart was a brave and courageous meerkat who fought to survive and almost made it. Mozart is finally happy in heaven with her family she has always wanted to be with.
Only 1 more episode to go for this season and then my heart gets a break until next season. I will continue to watch each new season of Meerkat Manor as long as they show them. And if they ever end, I'll have these memories of the little meerkats of the Kalahari we all came to know and love. I have their pictures on a flash drive and can look at them when ever I want so I'll never forget.
Take care everyone!

I was very surprised at the end of tonight's episode. The previews indicated that Mozart would finally find true love. Wilson, to his credit, did not desert her. The final moments of tonight's episode had me in tears. This season has really, really been hard. Perhaps it is that it is the 3rd season also, and we have gotten to know all the families and the members of the families. How did the Commandoes leader Hannibal lose his eye? Did I miss that episode? I went to local zoo here to see the meerkats, it was really something, they are tiny, and they are exaactly like we see on the show! I am bracing for the rest of this season. People think I'm silly to be so devastated, but they just don't know, one really has to watch the show. --

I am truly gonna miss Mozart. She was my favorite little meerkat. She was so loving and caring. All she ever wanted was a mate and family. That never came for her. Instead all she got was heartache after heartache. Now she is in a better place ans can have anything her precious soul wants. RIP Mozart. And I really learned to care for Wilson tonight. I hope he finds happiness soon. I will miss not seeing Mozart. I still love the show.

Maw - you are certainly not crazy, just feeling the pain of loss. I'm having difficulty getting all these images out of my mind also. We truly love these little creatures and, for that, we suffer. I adored little Mozart from the beginning and am desperately sad at her death. Loving these little animals has left an indelible impression on us forever.

Flower and Mozart were what got me hooked on MM and now both are gone. When Flower passed she was surrounded by family. Mozart didn't have anyone, she died alone. I can't even describe how broken my heart is right now. I have been sobbing since I saw Mozart lying there and I can't stop. I know death is a part of life but dying that way is the worst death imaginable. I think tonight was my last night watching MM. RIP Mozart.

I didn't see this coming and I still can't stop crying. I'm really going to miss Mozart. She was always the outcast that never really fit in and all she wanted was to belong. I thought for a while that she would finally be accepted into another group but once again she was alone. She had such a lonely life and my heart is breaking for her.

As soon as the sad music towards the end played, my jaw dropped & I kept saying, "Oh no. Oh no. Oh NO!" I can't believe precious Mozart has passed.
Mozart was a beautiful meerkat. Not caring about herself, only others. Despite all of her lost pups, she kept trying. Ambitious, brave, amazing, loyal & a true sweetheart to the end. Now she's in the Big Burrow in the Sky with Flower, Kinkajou, Carlos, Len, Squiggy, & all of the other meerkats that have passed. All of them, without a care in the world.
RIP Mozart, my little Sun Angel.

my beautiful mozart. still crying, sobbing. I loved her the most, i was starting to get my hopes up that she will finally have love and the family she deserves. In 24hrs all the events changed everything for her- the fire, fight between whiskers and commadoes, separating wilson and her apart for one night. a large part of me died when wilson went back excited to be with her at her territory on that morning to find mozart had died. she was up late that night all alone. the most heartbreaking episode ever. i'm still crying. mozart the dear, sweet, strong, caring one. you were loved very much.

I am so saddened by this season. It seems every week one of the whiskers leave due to the trials and tribulations of the desert. Carlos, Flower, the pups len and Squig, Kinkagu and now the one of the most loved in Mozart. Hopefully Zaphod will make it but with the death of Mozart and Flower it has been a tragic season. I just cant wait until the next episode and it is one of the few things in life that I really look forward to each week. I hope this show continues forever.

I knew this for a while, now.
Yet I fell sad and shocked when I read this forum.
I can't believe she is gone. Even knowing this for a while, I can't believe it. Even when there is evidence to prove that she is gone.
Note to Animal Planet:If a meerkat is going to die at the season finale, please don't call her resilient. She was resilient, but you have tricked many souls by calling her this in this particular season.

the one thing that really breaks my heart is thinking that mozart was so desparate for wilson's companionship that she was waiting for him to come back and that's when she was killed...why the desert treated such a beautiful soal so badly i'll never know.

Darling Mozart-How I will miss you! After all, you were Flower's little girl. Wilson and Mozart seemed to have a connection of unrequitted love when they were both sitting under the moon. Poor heartbroken little Wilson rushing out the next morning to find his new love only to find her gone. Kind of reminded me of Romeo and Juliet. It seems like so much of Flower's family is returning to her.Rest in contentment my little loved ones knowing how much you are loved.

I am truly devastated. Im so sick that this poor gilr died alone. How does something so cruel happen to such an angel of a meerkat. her loss all along. Her loving and caring to other meerkats. She did nothing but suffer and im terribly disturbed over it. So much loss this season adn drama, I really dont think I can handle it any more. My husband tried to keep me from watching it tonight so I would not cry and I turned it on with 15 minutes left and after He had to hold me as I shook and cried. I am visibly shook up. I see her face and it kills me inside, a piece of me has died. I will not get over this soon . I still mourn flower and carlos.

Perhaps Animal Planet will start a Mozart Memorial. She deserves it. We all loved her. I found comfort in seeing her share her last night with Wilson. And he came back looking for her the next day! Just for a moment my heart jumped. Love! He loved her. Bless beautiful Mozart. She deserves a MOZART MEMORIAL.

Now that I've ranted about AP constantly flashing #45 across the screen, I'll talk about Mozart.
Not to diss Flower, but I think Mozart was the true Queen of the Kalahari. Flower never had to go it on her own, she was always backed up be her family. She didn't have to face the trials and terrors that Mozart did. And no matter what happened, Mozart kept going.
She deserved way more than she got out of life. She was the bravest and strongest meerkat in the Kalahari, she also was the sweetest and had the biggest heart. Making her the true Queen of the Kalahari.

Mozart ... in Memoriam Hi all, It's a help to know that you all are out there appreciating MM and the difficult season this is. I'm a newbie to Meerkat Manor. The very first episode I watched was the one where Mozart got pregnant and as a result Flower moved the gang without Mozart's knowledge. She was such a forlorn little figure waiting for the group to return ... but they never did. Ever since that time, she's been my favorite, and I've been rooting for her. It was hard knowing that she had to make the choice to eat or watch her pups, and then they got killed. I thought that she was such a spunky little Kat, trying against all odds to survive in spite of the fact that the cards were stacked against her. That seemed to be the story of her life. Surviving against the odds. And because of this, in my book, not even the venerable Flower, outstanding as she was, was able to hold a candle to Mozart. You couldn't help it, when you watched Mozart's story, you just had to cheer her on. When she was in the Starsky group, I thought that it was finally coming together for her, but Kinkajou got the position of dominant female that I was hoping would go to Mozart. I guess her gentler touch was not one that led to her becoming the leader. But ironically, this "softer" little Kat was the only one of the Starsky group who survived. Tonight, again, I thought it was all going to come together for her. I was cheering when Wilson found her and spent the night. I was preparing myself for the worst though. I thought that she and Wilson would die in the fire. But they didn't. I hoped that the Commandos might accept her, but that didn't happen either. And it was heartwarming that Wilson thought of her all through the night. And at that point, just when I thought that all might just work out (while still trying to be prepared for the worst), the worst finally did happen. The odds that Mozart seemed to play against all her life, with success, won tonight. And it was a bitter victory. After surviving tragedy after tragedy, that it happened so soon after seeming hope seems the hardest of all. Though I do echo the sentiments mentioned by another member, that at least she had love at the end of her life, and at least her passing didn't go unnoticed (she was one of the Kalahari's biggest underdogs, and her resilience needs to be saluted). Having lost Flower and now Mozart, I found myself thinking that I don't think I can watch this anymore. They're just these tiny little cute fuzzballs that burrow their way into your heart and then you lose them just like that. It's really difficult. I still have other faves: Zaphod, Daisy, Mitch and Axle. I'd love to see more of them. But I don't know if I can take any more. The Kalahari is truly a beautiful but harsh place. And finally, it threw Mozart a curve ball she couldn't put back into the stands. But during her lifetime, she produced some of the most memorable plays and now has one of the most outstanding (in my book) Kalahari survival stats on record. Rest well, dear Mozart. The gentle, haunting music of your life story will play on in the hearts of those who watched and loved you. Farewell.
