They watch/film them 24/7 and I can't imagine that it doesn't break their hearts as well when losing one of the Meerkats. And we have to remember that what happens to our beloved little kats would happen, being filmed or not.

Sorry I accidentally hit post with nothing on it. I realize the Meerkats would have the same fate if there were no researchers but I can't help but think that once in a while they could step and save a life.

This season of MKM is tragic. Mozart our dear sweet little friend I am so sorry your life was so cruel and hard but you were always so kind and gracious in your response and we can all learn from that. I know your reward in heaven is GREAT as it should be. We will miss you and always have a very special place in our hearts for you princess Mozart! RIP.

My heart is broken at the passing of Mozart. Mozart was my favorite meerkat because she battled against so many odds-she was handed so many bad cards, but she seemed always come through.
I was so excited to see her with her new family at the beginning of the season. I thought....finally, she's gonna have her own family, not be evicted anymore. Then, with the death of her pups, and not attaining the dominant female role, that was heart breaking. I'm sorry that she died in the manner that she did.
Think about her life, she was evicted several times, she lost several litters of pups, she went into labor while the starsky was foraging and the group wouldn't return, she lost Carlos, she went through a fire, the list goes on and on....
I loved Flower, thought she was the wisest of meerkats. But Flower was backed by the whole family, Mozart was on her own many many times. I can't help but think, if Mozart had returned to her family instead of the Starzky, Flower would have welcomed her back...She always did. If she had rejoined the family, I think she would have survived, and maybe even been the dominant of the whiskers. Or if the whiskers would have taken her back, I wouldn't be writing this post.
I am thankful to Wilson for looking for her the next morning. At least, her death might mattered to someone...other than us.
I'm really sad, and I know she will have a good life in Heaven because God honors our sufferings here on earth.
You're finally home baby girl, and you don't have to worry about being alone or starving anymore.
I'll miss you...the manor will never be the same.

One other thought...Sophie is Mozart's daughter, and if you've watched Sophie, I think she's like her mom, always caring and brave. She was in the hole with the cobra, she helped rocket dog attack punk, also she's has stayed with the pups when attacked by other groups when others have tucked tail and ran. She's a little hero.....and I can't wait to see more of her.

OMG...now Mozart. I can't believe she's gone too. I am with petgirl, I don't think I can continue watching MM anymore. the show is just too sad. I used to watch the show and couldn't wait for the next show to air. Now I cringe with trepidation and think "whose going to die this week". The 1st season was so happy and light. We were introduced to these beautiful creatures and saw their different personalities. Then in season 2 Shakespeare disappeared, and we don't know what happened to him; Then Flower dies in such a tragic way, and now Mozart. If Zaphod goes then all the ones I know and love will be gone. Human life has enough anxiety, I don;t need anymore inn watching this show. I feel caught in a trap. I so want to watch but I am afraid of the next episode. I feel so strange that I am talking a/b feeling sad for animals I have never met, but thank God I have other people in this forum that feel deeply as well.

Yes, it is sad for me too, but in a strange way, nobody else would have cared about Mozart's passing if we weren't here. That's what pushes me to watch. This season has been very very tragic. Hopefully, season 4 will be better.
Does anyone know when Season 4 will start? Next August?

Poor Mozart. What a sad life she led. Being evicted from her family so many times until it became permanent , losing several litters, losing her chance to lead her group, being the sole survivor when her group died off and being left alone for so long, being rejected by her family when she tried to return and just when things start to look up and she found a possible long term mate bad timing would send her off on her own to die alone. She was such a little trooper to have made it so far, she truely was amazing. Although her loss doesn't impact me quite as much as Flowers I;m truely sadded by her loss. She had the toughest life of any meerkat they focused on in the show and it's horrible that she had to die when she seemed so close to being happy again!
Rest in peace sweet Mozart!

I love you Mozart!
Don't feel so bad - I'm 67 and cried for an hour after the program. My family thinks I've lost my mind! Just joined the group here and am glad to read I'm probably OK. All Mozart wanted, and needed, was to be loved by her family. Maybe that's why we feel so sad - it's a little bit like being a human being, isn't it?

after literally crying for 4 hours last night over the death of mozart, this morning i woke with a weight on my heart. i don't know why her death has affected me so much, but it has. i really wish wilson had not gone back for her...to me that makes her death even more tragic...if she was only alive for a little longer they could have been together. i know i need to move on w/ my life and act like a normal human being, but she truely did touch my heart, and my heart will ache and nag at me to cry, but i realize crying will not bring her back or end the suffering she went through during her terrible life. im just going to give one last mozart one last tear and hope she is somewhere much better now. She was truely a princess to me. lots of love mozart, may you RIP

Maybe that is why I am bothered so much..Mozart was alone for so long; had her pups eaten by her sister; saw Carlos die, then whoppie was missing, then her other sister Kinkajou. After that she tried to come back to her family the Whiskers only to be rejected. Finally she meets Wilson and then follows him back to his family only to have his family ready fo a fight so Wilson leaves to help the Commandoes fight and again she was back to being left and alone. As a human how much of that could we endure?

Just one more thing...If she could have survived 1 more night, she would have had Wilson back. That makes me cringe. Also to see his face as he looked at her body. I can't take this show anymore

Dear Mod-Kelly; I pray tell, please let there be a happy ending in this Season 3. I don't think I can handle another tragedy in the Kalihari with our little friends. Now like her mother Mozart is with her dear mother Flower. I hope we will continue to see more Meerkat Manor. But please let us smile again for that is what Flower brought us was courage and to be fearless in times of crisis. But we need to smile. Please I hope there is hope for Flowers little girl Liz. Thanks so much for this season and am looking for a better season next time. I know its nature, but we need to laugh again.

I agree with another post, the producers should put Mozart's photo alongside her Mom's. I am wondering if the film crew buried Mozart close to her Mom? I would like to think so. Does anyone know?
Also, I agree that the flashes on the screen announcing "#45", etc. were a distraction. Once would have been more than enough. Just my opinion.

I agree that Mozart's picture should be posted with her Mother's. She has been on the show since Season 1, and was a major part of the show.

She found some peace and love at the end of her life. Now she will know peace instead of heartache, fear and hunger. You will always be in our hearts. RIP Mozart
My feelings exactly. So well put. Mozart has been one of my favorites from day one. Such a tragic life and such a brave, gentle, loving spirit.I loved Shakespeare and Tosca too and they're gone. At least we didn't have to see their lifeless bodies. This has been such a heartwrenching season. Please don't let anything happen to Courageous Mitch or Patriarch Zaphod. I can't take anymore. I cried my eyes out all season but Mozart was the biggest blow.My heart is broken. RIP You will be missed!

From the start, Mozart was having the time of her life. She had her whole family plus she was a very helpful Babysitter and a caring Companion...In the middle, she lost most of her own litter, but she had to survive somehow...At the end, she lost it all,but didn't loose her dignity and her power to try to survive, she's a true Survivor like her mother,Flower!!!
**(((Life must move on forward,at least they both left their next generations to carry on.)))Peacee!!!

I am just devestated by the loss of Mozart. I always considered her the "comeback kid" of the Kalahari. But I guess one meerkat can only endure so much. I was hopeful about Wilson coming back. They would have been good mates. If he learned anything from his father Hanibal, he would have fiercely protected and defended her and their pups. I hope the best for Wilson as he finds his way. I am grateful for this site. It's a comfort to know that I'm not the only one who is hurting so much. I've been a member for a while but I don't post often. I guess now all we can do is take what we love about Mozart and try to apply it to our own lives-- selflessness, perserverance, and kindness. She was a great example for all creatures.

RIP Flower, Kinkajou & Mozart Wow, I didn't see this coming either!! My son and I just finished watching last night's episode and yet again, our hearts are broken over another dear favorite Meerkat, Mozart!! When Wilson got up so early the next morning after the Whiskers showdown and went searching for Mozart I thought she had a chance to start a new family of her own. What a shock that Mozart too, has lost her life. This has been a very upsetting season thus far!! Way too many of our favorite meerkats are dying. RIP Mozart with you sister Kinkajou and brave mother Flower. Wow, I'm so upset again.....

I just watched this show .I taped it last nite but,for the first time since I've watching MM I just had to wait til I could watch and greive without going into to work the next day.I didn't know how I would react.(POORLY) I was devastated by the site of poor, sweet, kind nature, good mother Mozart lying in the dirt like common prey. She must have fought hard agianst her attacker. My heart sunk.Someone said from another thread she was kinda like Princess Diana.Had a hard life only wanted to be a good mother, be happy with someone.Just when she was possibly finding someone her young beautiful life was cut short of so much potential. So much more love to give.So very sad,I will be glad when this season is over too much death.
May flights of snow white angels wing you your derserved rest Sweetest of meerkats.Your fight is over little one rest now.Be with the loved ones gone on before you.We all know the names. The list is sadly too long.

I can't believe Mozart is gone. We will never see her beautiful face again. She is at peace and, finally, at home with the rest of her family.
