Lots of Zaphod - the old General still has plenty of the right stuff. He just needs to regroup now and then. The owl had my heart in my throat for a few seconds!


I am falling in love with Nakita more every episode! The shots of her batting the "boys" on the head when they were trying to romance her were delightful. I do think Zorro has his work cut out for him; Nobody puts Nikita in the corner! I think I'll try that "being mean...." philosophy out

Maybelline seems to be coming into her own indeed. 4 pups - the New FAB FOUR! Harrison is my maiden name And yes, Catkins, a real home for the Paw Paw and the grandkids

Great, great episode - I love it!

EJ may have lost her pups, but she lived to see another day. The Aztecs need her. Bananas and Angie being gone stinks.

Maybelline had her pups 4 little ones will surely help. It's great to see Zaphod helping to take care of them. From 7 to 11 is an important increase.

Watching Zorro and his brothers was interesting. The preview for next week made me think perhaps Miles might want to back off.

Four little monsters..lol. Nikita's pups look healthy and happy to me. There are more pups on the way for the Commandos, too.

Loved seeing all 8 pups tonight!! But- I found a few parts disappointing. First of all- I don't like the way they keep referring to Zaphod as "elderly", "old timer" and names like that. I feel as if they're trying to say he won't be around much longer Second- why did they have such nagative names for Nikita's pups? "Monsters", "hooligans", "deinquents". They were 4 sweet little pups being pups. Just because they are Commandoes doesn't mean they are bad lol.
I felt so bad for little EJ-the close-up of her sad face. I'm glad she recovered, but sad that she lost her pups.
Missed RD and the Whiskers! Can't wait till the next episode.

Well I was glad to see Zaphod...having just retired...it is good to know...you can still be feisty...and I loved the Pups...no matter whose family...I love meerpups!

Another great episode. Go Aztecs!! Yay - I was so happy to get to see footage of the Aztecs and especially Maybelline tonight. I couldn't believe that Maybelline picked a fight with the much larger Lazuli and while she was pregnant too. The girl has the gusto of her mama! I'm so glad EJ survived - it may have saved her life that she was wounded, ie, she aborted and therefore was not evicted by Maybelline). It's so great that despite the stress that Maybelilne must be under being the leader of a small mob that's been roaming the Kalahari trying to find a home of their own she had such a large litter. Maybelline's pups are adorable. The fab 4 - I love how they are named after the Beatles. And good old daddy Zaphod is there for moral support. I love them all.

Looks like there is much testosterone flying around at the Commandos and Nikita is loving every minute of it. LOL! She has looks *and* charm as far as I'm concerned. It will be interesting to see how this plays out among our ex-Whiskers guys.

Looking forward to seeing the Fab 4 and the rest of the Aztecs thrive. Go Maybelline - in the spirit of your mom may you carry the crown of the Kalahari!

Ahhh! What a cute episode with all of the pups! I'm glad they focused on the Aztecs and Commandoes because I enjoy the updates. It was nice to see Zaphod a little more.

Script writers who haven't a clue about our adored meerkats or us, their loving fans....infantile writing and definitely NOT CUTE!

No wonder I am reading the future of MM is in jeopardy.

LIKES:
-Good old Zaphod; he may be up in years, but he's as cute and commanding as ever. I can sort of accept his title as "old timer," as he's nearly 10 years old, but to call him a "retiree!?" He totally proved them wrong by warding off that owl!
-New pups all around, and I too am digging the Beatles reference.
-LAZULI!!! ...Come on, admit it. You missed them too. Good to see them still kicking, and with a new head lady.
-Keeping some of the real names like "Bananas" (that's the one they used to call "Athena," I believe) always scores points from me.
-Seeing Nikita shoo off her would-be admirers was priceless! Never thought I'd see a lady-kat say "No." She actually said more than just that: "*swat* Back off! I'm busy!" LOL
-Seeing Nikita with her pups was precious. I'm glad that they're finally showing the Commandoes' sweet side. Now, if they could just admit it in their script writing.... (More on that soon.)

DISLIKES:
-No Whiskers?? Huh. I was totally not expecting that. Then again, I wasn't prepared for an all-Zappa episode either. Still, kinda weird not having the "stars" around...
-Poor, poor EJ. I felt so bad for her when she was injured, and when she lost her unborn pups.
-Calling Nikita's pups "delinquents" went one step too far. Shame on you, writers! >
Yes, that's my biggest pet peeve, and I saved it for last. Other than those mishaps, it was a good episode. Looking forward to the next one.

They kept saying how old Zaphod is getting to be. I wondered if they are preparing us for his death.

Since I don't seem to be allowed to edit my own posts, I had to start a new one to say this:

I thought in the beginning most of the stories followed the natural behavior of the meerkats. If they are really fabricating the things that are happening I am very disappointed. I don't really want to see some fairy tale about them. I want to see what their real lives are even though it is sometimes heartbreaking. Why invent characters and behavior when their natural ways are interesting enough.

As an avid Beatles fan, I cracked up last night when I heard the names of the new pups. I am attending the annual Beatlefest weekend in Chicago in 2 weeks - I will have to let folks know that the Beatles have been further immortalized as Meerkat pups!

Oh my gosh. I am just laughing my head off over McCartney, Lennon, Ringo and Harisson! Beatles meerkats! XD Oh my gosh that's just so funny! Now I want them to name merkats after ABBA (who, by the way, are my favorite band). Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha and Anni-Frid. XD

This was a great episode! I loved seeing the Aztecs and Zaphod! But no Whiskers? That's a downer. =P

Since they are naming pups after bands, and think the Commandoes pups are so "ornery", they should name 2 of the pups Sting and Stewart because those 2 have always fought like cats and dogs and still do lol! :P

It was great to see all those itty bitty commandoes, and teeny tiny aztecs ^^ and all those cute close ups. AP knows what we want. Pups!

It's a terrible shame that those pups were lost but at least mum recovered. When they spoke of "losses" before the commercial, my first thought was "oh dear..please not Zaphod"

It was great to see Zaphod again. He's lived a long life and still he can scrap and rove and forage like a young one. It was a surprise though. when did he become DM of the Aztecs? did i miss something?

By FAR the best surprise though. and i'm shocked that no one besides snodin mentioned it!!

The Lazuli are back in business!!! *grooves* I missed em! I missed em! I didn't think there'd ever be mention of them again. Sure they kicked the whiskers around, but I loved following them too. Hope we see more of them.

It's getting pretty intense now. Whiskers, Commandoes, Aztecs, AND the Lazuli?

Does anybody know what happened to the Zappa gang?

Zappa are still around, Punk had 2 pups in Dec and Milla had 4 recently. At friends kalahri, the public LH still shows the Zappa group but doesn't update Atecs, Whiskers,Commnados for now.

Really good episode. Nice to see Maybelline and Zaphod. They've been missed. Maybs is Flower's daughter doing what it takes to survive. And giving birth to the Beatles, now that's an accomplishment.

Poor old, tired, re-tired, worn out Zaphod. Just like Eeyore, all down and out. I keep thinking they'll soon have him on meerkat viagra just to get him back on the rove.

Love Zorilla and her "not tonite, I have a headache" attitude. Poor thing - so many men, so little time.

Missed Rocket Dog and the Whiskers. Too bad this can't be an hour show so we could keep up with them all.

And then there was the Tommeercial. Yah, there was that.

I've been so busy that I forgot to post about the episode.

Janelle and I watched it on Saturday since the Palm Desert hotel we were at on Friday didn't have AP, I absolutely loved it.
Here I though Angie was Bananas because of the dye marks and then Bananas comes into the scene so that would make Angie Billy (so confusing). I felt so bad that she was evicted and is pregnant, so reminescent(sp?) of poor Mozart.

The fight had my heart pounding especially with so many of the females being pregnant. The wound on EJ looked really bad and although she lost her pups at least she still has her family. Maybelline you definitely showed that you have Flowers genes racing thru your blood. YOU GO GIRL!!!!!! The fab four are in the house, and will be finding lots of beetles (beatles) real soon hehe.

Nikta your the bomb, loved the paw slap to the boys, just keep them Whisker boys in line.
I thought the references about her pups was too cute, so appropriate to go along with the name of the group.
I never thought that I could take so much interest in a group other than the Whiskers but I'm really enjoying watching the other groups just as much.

Of course I saved the best for last, my man Zaphod. I just love him, love him, love him, watching him with his grandpups was precious and so priceless. I wonder if he was thinking about Flower and wishing she was there to enjoying the newest members of the family, WOW that scene was very touching and to me thought provoking on what Zaphod could be thinking. Any episode with Zaphod is great episode to me and when you have pups too then it's meerkat heaven.
LOVE THE PUPS, ALL THE PUPS!!!!!! I can watch pups interacting all day and all night.

I was glad to see the Lazuli again- since the Commandos took the Whiskers' territory, I was wondering why they and the Lazuli weren't getting into each other's business as much as the Lazuli and the Whiskers did. I guess they've gone a bit farther out from the main area.

I wasn't too keen on the euphemisms they made towards Zaphod's age though- he's held his own against males still in their prime, and that's not something to sneeze at. Old, yes- decrepit, DEFINITELY NOT.

Zaphod may be growing older, but he's anything but a pushover. By implying that he is decrepit, they may be trying to prepare us for his eventual departure. The thing is, none of us know when or how he will leave us. Hang tough, Zaphod! Set a new record lifespan

Zorilla, her pups, and all meerkats are wild animals. They don't know the difference between survival instincts and "evil" behavior. Basically, when rival groups meet up and fight, they are trying to get a different territory so that they can have enough for everyone to eat. Also, burrows are scarce in some areas, and they need places to sleep.

Nitka seems to be getting a big fan base I have always thought she was a fighter and strong leader. But I still have in my mind how rutless she is capable of being especially with other meerkat pups. I like her leadership and how she keeps everyone in line but you I always think of how Flower commanded respect and keep her mob in line but as far as we all know she never killed any other Whisker pups. Gosh a number of times she would wait to even throw a meerkat out that had pups until the pups were born and healthy. She loved all the pups. Flower was fair and aggressive but never had aggression issues.
