I'm too broken up right now to say anything about Flower...

I will say, though, that EINSTEIN is a hero for finding little Axel. I wish they wouldn't have said that he was "Mitch."

How sad was that. Sometimes I wonder how the producers can watch that devastating of an event happen.I realize they had no idea what was going to happen when that snake slithered in there but someone was going to get hurt. I feel like I've lost my own pet. It is going to be hard to watch this without her

I'm having a hard time with this as others are, I wanted to say that Flower has always lived up to her name. She as been a beauty, with strength, caring and love of her family. We will all miss her terribly. I am sure that one of her girls with rise to lead the family, as she did. What grace she showed as she accepted Axle into the family. What courage to face the snake in the burrow, to protect her babies. Flower our sweet beauty, we bid you sad farwell. Oh how you will be missed.

They said it was Mitch, but the I got a good view of the dye markings (Mid Back, Right Thigh) that tell me it was Einstein.

I went to the site and read everything the producer answered.
He did say that Liz, the pup we see emerging from the burrow, is named after Liz Taylor who is a big fan of the show.

wildaffair - I agree entirely with what you have said.

As for Axel, he is one lucky pup.

I love this show. It is so fascinating how Meerkats interact.

This show can be very sad - just as real life can be. I am kind of surprised how Flower's death affected me. The chat with the Producer answered a lot of questions.

I would love to read a book about this whole experience of filming.

Remember a couple of weeks ago when that undeveloped pup was left crying in the dessert and you knew he was going to die? THAT really tore at my heart. I'd have to rescue it if I was there. Must be hard for them to just watch and let them die.

I wasn't able to get on the site with the producers. What other interesting things did they say and talk about?

The Whiskers were chosen for the program because of Flowers success as a DF. What a beautiful tribute that is to our dear Flower. THE most successful DF!

Flowers strength and compassion was so apparent in her treatment of little Axel. What a lucky young pup. I hope there are good times ahead for him.

So many of us knew going into tonights episode what the outcome was going to be. Did it make it any easier? Absolutely NOT! I sobbed as hard for Flower as I have for any of the elephants lost at the sanctuary in Tennessee. After all of this time we had grown to love her as if she were a furry baby of our own and curled up at the foot of our bed each night as we slept.

Namaste dear Flower.

Newman.....who bows to Flower....my precious yellow rose....

Does anyone know what happened to the pups and the two babysitters? I didn't get to the live chat until after it was in progress but he said they did not kill the snake. That would imply that the pups may not have made it, either.

This I don't get... They were headed back to the burrow when they ran into the cobra and chased it off (thought someone was going to buy it there). Then they head to the burrow, and the snake beat them back there. How could the snake beat them, especially after it was shooed away? You knew it was curtains when Flower went in head first.

I was crying so hard at the end of the show that I didn't even see next weeks preview. Does anyone know if they implied that they would clear all this up? Was anyone else injured?

Flower was one in a million! She had such an impact on so many people promoting the project and education and conservation.

What a remarkable meerkat. She was a star and will soon be a movie star yet her main goal was to protect and defend her babies and family.

I really loved the first part where they showed her rough tumbling with the teenagers. It showed she had a sensitive side solidified even more when she took in little Axel.

I agree with all of those who feel she was like a pet. The thing that attracted me to the meerkats was a spark and intelligence that reminded me of my own sweet puppy.

She will me missed but her legacy that reached people all over the world will be remembered.
I know she would be happy with the difference she made!!

I think little Axel slowed them up. Poor little guy couldn't keep up and Flower had to keep giving him a lift. I hope some nasty big bird of prey got a nice snake steak for dinner

This may sound awful but I do hope that EVIL snake got it in the end too!! Snakes do not have families to go home to. When have snakes ever been heroes throughout history???

All the time I was thinking that maybe they really took to Axel because of what happened to Len and Squiggy...Maybe they were trying to just do better this time and maybe Flower felt bad about what happened to those pups...

Yeah, I realize that Axel slowed them up, but the Whiskers were on a mission, and snakes are pretty slow except when striking. I'm suspicious that they spliced a few events together (or cut some out) for dramatic purposes.

Dang Mitch couldn't help himself.

You are right. Snakes have families too. I'm just having a tough time with this. If it was just a regular tv show with actors I'd be angry if one of my fave's met with disaster. But it is just so hard to think that all those animals are there right now and they lost their fearless and incredibly smart leader. I hope whoever fills her role can keep them fed and healthy and safe.I know that it is a bit dramatic for all the other things going on this world of ours....but if you were a devoted fan of the show then I think you really came to love the animals too. I hope we all feel better tomorrow.
