Yo

This is my favorite episode so far this season.

It was heartlifting in view of what happens later on to see a representation of some of the strongest bloodlines in the Kalahari showing they have the right stuff:

Mitch, son of Flower and Zaphod, grandson of Vivian;

Jogu, son of Tosca and Carlos, grandson of Big Si and Cazanna Lazuli;

Sophie (Tina Sparkle) daughter of Mozart, grand daughter of Flower and Zaphod.

These 3 hopeful young adults show their strengths in caring, protection, daring, adventure and yes even in growing up.

Sophie's mission was to care for and protect Flower's latest litter, the future of the Whiskers.

Mitch had to dare the odds, fight off sharp beaked plouvers and go off searching in unfamiliar territory to find a rescue party.

While for impetuous Jogu it was time to learn the facts of life including there's no place like home.

Along with some excellent pronking/war dance cinematography we are shown that meerkats cherish their family ties and because of that they are still digging their way deep into our hearts.

5 stars out of 5
Exciting
Beautiful
Moving
New behaviors
Happy ending

Kelly thanks for the new episode board. Great idea.

I did enjoy this episode.

No heart scorching scenes, either.

I agree Pronker!

This episode was pure meerkat gold from start to finish.

The commercial for it was one of the best ones in MM history in my opinion as well. The "Heroes will rise" part with Sophie and Mitch was great!

Personally, I think Mitch could have taken the birds. He was just showing his kind side by not engaging them! Big Grin

The "heroes will rise" commercial was perhaps also the only commercial that has aired that is not completely tasteless.

Mitch was phenomenal. Sophie was phenomenal. Flower was phenomenal. They were ALL on a mission and they all succeeded in their way. (I guess Jogu succeeded in his way Smile, but I did worry about Sophie being left alone!)

I agree. I really liked this episode. The first episode, while fairly dark, was gripping in its way, too.

Sophie, Mitch and Jogu remind me of Shakespeare, Tosca and Mozart - brave little meerkats -

But how quickly the bright spots are buried in the tears of the succeeding episodes. Thanks for reminding us.

I only know this Season, but my Season 1/2 DVDs arrived yesterday. I took a sneak peek, but this weekend will be a marathon for me. My husband will have our menagerie to care for. I am going to disappear for hours. Will only forage when necessary. Big Grin

Are the ladies of the Kalahari ready for Jogu Whiskers-Lazuli? Perhaps he will be the true heir to Carlos.

Speaking of Jogu, I wonder if Melanie will be let back into the Zappa mob and have Jogu's pups. It could happen, since the Zappa are low in numbers.

Referring to some of the other topics, I think that this episode was the most calming this season. Quote"Poor Carlos!

I'll freely admit that as a guy, I was giving Jogu a big two thumbs up and saying "Yeah, that's the way to do it little dude!" to my TV.

Sophie definently started to get to be my favorite meerkat in that episode. You can definently tell that she is Mozart's pup. she has the exact same caring side.
