Poor Mozart! So sweet & compassionate being w/ so many of her loved ones in their last moments alive...& now she's completely alone again. RIP Kink. hopefully De La soul/whoopi is ok somewhere. this was yet another sad episode...and next week, it'll be even worse. this is a really difficult season to watch but that's unfortunately the reality of trying to survive in a drought in the in the middle of the Kalahari this year.

Oh Mozart, Oh Kinkajou......I don't like to see them suffer even though Kinkajou killed Mozart's pups
Why didn't the Commandos take in 3 very fertile females, it doesn't make sense...
It killed me to see them so thin...why do they have to suffer like this when any group could take them in and get the benefits of a different gene pool.
Yes, I agree about the TB, I think that's what might have taken them out but I did read on the KP that several of the males just left.
I feel like every episode of MM has turned into 30 minutes of crying...oh wait , I'm still crying so a night of crying.

Hello all,
Again it is the big coward that checks with everyones point of view before I watch. I don't know if I can watch this one. I can't stand to see them hurting or starving to death. I hope Mozart makes it. Will there ever be a episode with a little fun and humor again.
I wish they wouldn't change names on us like that. Whoopi for goodness sake. They should use our names. We are their family too after all. lol

I don't know how much more of this sadness I can take. I used to be able to watch MM and laugh & smile. Now all I do is cry. First Flower, then seeing so proud Zaphod reduced to babysiting before having to leave his family. And now poor Kinks & Whoopi. My heart just breaks for poor Mozart who it seems can just never catch a break. But what I can I do ecxcept buy some more Kleenex.

Oh such a sad episode. :,( Poor Mozart, Kinkajou, and Whoopie/De La Soul. They all were so thin. Why couldn't the Whiskers let Mozart back? RIP Kinkajou

So sad to see the demise of the struggling and sufferring Starsky. May all their little meerkat souls rest in peace. Mozart is my favorite and it is heartbreaking to see her all alone. If only those Whiskers knew what a valuable asset she would have been before they chased her off. She is such a maternal meerkat and would have helped to take such good care of the new whisker pups.

Does "Kleenex" invest in Meerkat Manor?

Another episode hard to watch for poor Kinkajou (RIP, sweetie), lost Whoopi/De la Soul and our precious Mozart. <sigh> Still, I'm glad I watched to see them again and root for them against all odds. (Yes, I do talk to my TV sometimes during the exciting/sad parts ) Dear Mozart, terribly thin and alone *again*, is a brave little trouper with a GREAT spirit. I love her dearly. BTW, naming De la Soul "Whoopi" was probably inspired because she's a fan of MM. I read this on the Fellow Earthlings Wildlife Center (a meerkat refuge) site: http://www.meerkats.com/newsletter_summer2006.html"... Thanks to the Animal Planet series, Elizabeth Taylor and Whoopi Goldberg each adopted a meerkat. We received a touching personal note from Ms. Goldberg stating how happy she was that 'her family was able to help care for a meerkat family.'..." The site's "About Us" page says "Fellow Earthlings' Wildlife Center is proud to be partnered with Animal Planet on their hit series Meerkat Manor." So there is a connection. My guess: these celebrity adoptions (and perhaps other offers of support) probably prompted MM producers to choose names Liz and Whoopi. If I was Whoopi, though, I would feel cheated! They have plenty of thriving young Whiskers pups or juveniles to choose from. That seems much less risky than choosing an endangered adult in a dwindling Starsky mob. Oh well... It's great that the meerkats are getting celebrity attention. Keep the help and visibility coming, please!!!

Rest in peace little Kinkajou.
Hard to see the screen with so many tears. Mozart alone, scared and starving. I don't think my heart can take any more. K

I hate to disappoint you, but it is NOT Zaphod. If it were Zaphod why would they say she catches the eye of a young male? I know who it is, but since this isn't the spoiler board I'll keep it to myself.

another very sad episode. I'm starting to feel like a glutton for punishment.
poor little Kinkajou..she looked all out..shivering from starvation and stress. RIP little Kinkajou.
and poor poor little Mozart...she's lived such a sad life.. she's my favorite..
I don't think they have from TB..they are in a poor foraging spot, and not enough of them to cope..they were starving and stressed. tho the narrator did say the Starskys were "ravaged by illness"..and the 3 were all that was left.
poor little "Whoopie"...
question:..Kinkajou did kill Mozart's pups to become the DF..and I thought she was pregnant, right? where are her pups?
I was really upset to see Mozart chased away by the Whiskers.. too bad she wasn't able to sneak in amongst them...or at least stay on the fringes for a few days and get the benefit of better foraging so she wasn't starving..then sneak in.. being back with the Whiskers would make all the difference.
I hope that she does meet up with Zaphod..for a little company and protection..but I thought maybe it would be that Wilson that keeps popping up. I did read the spoilers once.. won't be doing that much.. too depressing and sad. sure do wish for happier episodes.
still missing Flower.

To MM how can you just watch this little meerkats die in front of you. I understand the you want to have nature take it place. However did you ever thought that maybe God send you all there to save these these poor little animals? PLEASE DO SOMETHING. Don't just sit there and watch them die from starvation.

ziggy777- I read on another thread that Kinkajou's pups did not survive. Mozart and Kinks are all that's left.

Yo
Sad indeed but true.
Sigh, on the need to rename Dela Soul. Rather distasteful that in her one spot lighted appearance she was given a stage name. RIP DeLa Soul, daughter of Tosca, granddaughter of Flower.
Lesson for the night "A lone female fending for herself is completely vulnerable..."
This episode proved to me that Mozart did have what it takes to lead. She was the leader of Starsky now even if she didn't wear the collar. Kinkaju was too weak to lead, but true to form Mozart did not display any dominance. She did what had to be done. She looked out for the two younger females dispite the hardship of the barren territory and their former spats, she was there for them.
Unfortunately Dela's inexperience probably cost her her life. The Commandos are a large and unforgiving mob. She would not know how to make it on her own.
Kinkaju was already weak and starving and that last run for her life probably cost her what was left of it.
And tragic Mozart is alone again. Fate is not always kind.
RIP Kinkaju and De La Soul

Groups almost never allow non-natal females to join. There's already a lot of competition between females for social status and breeding rights; letting more competition in doesn't help them. If anything, the move should have been Commando males to Starsky, not Starsky to Commandos. Why did they change the Starsky kat's name from what it says in the episode guide? All of these random name changes (also House of Zappa to Sibling Rivalary and Queen of the Kalahari to Queen of the Meerkats) are for the worse and I don't know what they were thinking!

Kinkajou had her pups. Quoth KMP on the Starsky, "....all litters were lost in their first days..." Rocket Dog wouldn't let Mozart in. She knows that she would be disposed by an older female. The Whiskers wouldn't. Now she smells like Starsky. An enemy. My heart is held heavy. I understand the next episode is "The Graduate"...

That's almost exactly what I was thinking--just show herself every so often. I forgot it would be better foraging, too. And I wanted her to start calling, too. Maybe her children or Mitch would have heard her . . . well it is also sad for Kinkajoui. My new possible theory is that Mozart is even more of a heroine than anyone knew. On some level, maybe she knew, in some instinctual way, that it would not be good to go home, and that's why she didn't try harder. she would have gin Oh there's Kinkajou. Type & cry, Thanks for being here,

sorry i was trying to say if she had TB, she may have known, on some level. i know im reaching here, but you never know. she is so beautiful The Whiskers just chased her away. She might have figured a way to be clever if she wasn't so weak.
Sorry, not much of a sage tonight. hugs.
