When Zaphod was gooming Lola, I could swear I saw a collar on her! Could someone with tivo or a recorder rewind and see for sure? I liked this episode.

All in all it was a fine episode.

It was nice of Zaphod to run off rather than thrash the whole Zappa/Young Ones mob. It shows that even though he is looking out for himself, he still has the best interest of his species at heart.

The way the narration was tonight one would think Zaph turned in his walking stick for a walker.

Astins last comments about Zaphod not returning to the Whiskers any time soon guarantees he will be the one returning in upcoming episodes. Whenever Astin makes a comment like that it is usually misleading.

So let's hear it for the rover with a heart, the Mighty Zaphod!

I was odd to see Zaphod away from the Whiskers bunch, things are just so different it's almost like watching another show.I thought he and Lola would start something.Man to be old he could really haul @ss, LOL.I thought Houdini had him for a minute. It will be interesting to see where Zaphod ends up.I felt so bad for Zaphod he just seemed so out of place with his old family. Like a man without a country.

Great episode ! So sad to see Zaphod by himself. I do hope he finds a way to return to hos rightful family one day. Sean Astin made it sound like Ol' Zaphod was ready for the box. My God....he's not that old is he ?!?!? Zaphod roams with style ! That is why Zaphod is the man !

RIP Flower....We miss you !

When I saw the title the tears began....it was Zaphods time to truly say goodbye to his dearest Flower and move on. (Whether he comes back or not, at the time, didn't matter)

Mighty Zaphod indeed!

Zaphod is still the man, but the man looked so lonely and lost to me. I wanted to put my arms around him and say..you are gonna be fine.

I ask only that he continue to be safe and find a lady as worthy of him as his Flower

It was sad to see Zaphod all by himself. I loved when Liz cuddled up to her daddy, that was sooooooooo sweet. It was also sad to see Zaphod in the middle of shall I say animal instict, only to be chased off. Good to see he still got what it takes.

Rocket Dog posing au natural for Maxim was scandalous enough. Now Zaphod and Lola are making an adult film together.

Where does it all end????????

Zaphod seemed out of place in his home and it seemed now one really appreicated him. It was sad to see him go and he's still young and if he can run from houdini he can do anything. I think Lola and him might be a good couple she is being pushed out just like he was and I wish houdini left him and lola alone both of them needed the togetherness. Its really sad watching meerkat manor without flower being there

I really do think that Liz and Axel would make the cutest couple! I hope Wilson or some other rover finds RD's group soon. Sean Astin didn't seem to positive about next weeks episode. Pronker, are you SURE that Liz isn't Flower's daughter? I want her to be! She's so sweet.

I love Zaphod. I have since I first saw him. He has that funny, quirky kind of mouth, which identifies him immediately. Just watched
"Farewell, My Lovely." Heartbreaking title. It's clear Zaphod must move on. Flower is gone, and he has no place with the Whiskers. He tries to seduce Lola, with his "rusty seduction techniques," nothing rusty about this boy. He's a survivor. Even goes for Lola! This has been a tough season. Carlos, Flower, others are gone. I'll keep watching. Many thanks to the crew and Sean Astin. You all take my breath away. I love this show. It's good you keep the humor going in your commercial breaks, which are really funny. Gets us through the heartbreak of losing our little buddies.

Rocket Dog posed in a magazine?! Are you pulling my leg? I will search for that magazine if it is true! LOL. I have seen lots of ads for MM in my magazines lately. Cosmo and the weekly celeb gossip ones like People and In Touch Weekly have full page ads and People had a picture of Flower and a little memorial to her. It was in the section that tells you about the weeks deaths, births, weddings, etc. It was sweet.

I enjoyed this episode. Nice to see Zaphod isn't sitting around moping as a widower. Get out and get some action!

BTW, no one has mentioned the funniest part of last night's episode... when old man Zaphod gets bit by some pesky ants!

Nice to see Axl and Liz growing up, too!

Zaphod rules! I really enjoyed this episode. Although I felt sad when Zaphod was unnappreciated by his kids (isn't that always the way?), it was nice to see him enjoying himself on the move. Except life's tough when you have ants biting your...well, you know what happened. I laughed so hard when they showed that close up! And the look on his and Lola's face when they got caught in the grass together!

I was hoping Lola would run off with Zaphod--she deserves a break. And he needs someone to take care of him and remind him to eat!

The ol' man still has it!

Very good episode.
At the very end though...ouch! Zaphod had an ant biting his....ahem..... As a female, I winced in sympathy. I'm sure that gave the male members of this burrow the heebie jeebies!!! Big Grin

How can they know Zaphod's and Lola's mating was unsuccessful? It sure looked like they got a good start.

If that did happen I'm sure Punk would evict her. Lola would probably die, alone and pregnant. Life is hard in the Kalahari, especially for an evicted alone female. I kinda hope they didn't. When Zaphod does finds a mate, I hope they stay together so she will have his help and protection. K

It was nice to see Zaphod moving on, it took him longer than expected (about 6 six weeks) but he finally did it. Rocket Dog is truly now on her own with Mom and Dad gone, it was fun to see her kicking Maybelline's b&%t.

I,too, got teary-eyed at the title. This episode was very moving, as Zaphod decided to move on with his new life. I know this is "human" rationale, and not "meerkat" rationale, but I just think it's sad that he cannot stay and be part of the family that he helped create and nurture. It's like..."well, now that Mom's gone, there is no room for you, Dad....you might want to get going.." Frown

That being said, Zaphod truly is the "man". I loved it when they showed him enjoying his "new and carefree" life with no responsibilities except to take care of himself. Even when he was trying to "court" Lola, it seemed as if he was being a gentleman, and very respectful of her. Smile

Zaphod is a fierce fighter, a great provider, a kind and loving husband and father, and a very intelligent meerkat. He would be an awesome "catch" for any DF meerkat. I hope he finds the life he deserves. Smile

I enjoyed this episode, there were times I wanted to cry, but then I just wanted to hug Zaphod. He really is the man! I didn't like him at first but now to see how he switched roles and stayed around to look after his family! I'm so proud of him! Now I see why Flower kept him around!

Hey Cordee,

No radio collar on Lola, and Zaphod definitely hit the 'mark' so to speak. Lola may just be pregnant with Zaphod's pups, we'll just have to keep watching and see what develops!!

Peace & Blessings,

Well, meerkats in captivity could live to be 14, but in the wild they usually live to be about 8-11. Zaphod is either 9 or 10, so I'm gussing that he's about the equivilant to being between 80 and 90 in human years!

Thank you Atilla. So Zaphod is living in his later years. When the inevitible happens to Zaphod, I really will think it is an end of a Whiskers era. I guess that in the wild, death is all too common with the meerkats.

I was wondering about that too LoveLife. I was wondering if maybe they will bring in a new group next year. I would like that. It would be nice to have two or three more groups that we could love. They have made the other groups the bad guys when really they are all alike. Especially since most of our beloved MKs are not going to be there next season. Of course I still want our Whiskers to be the main group. What do think people?

I felt so sad for Zaphod..his role as "grandpa" was great, but the former DM needs more. Still sad to see him leave the Whiskers.
It seemed to me that as the gang came out of the burrow, and realized that Zaphod was no where to be seen, the seemed kind of anxious, and even sad..am I mistaken, was I seeing what I wished to see? or did others get the same impression?
I was very hopeful for him and Lola to get together..2 former Dominants out of place..
I hoped they'd run away together, and form a new gang. Poor Zaphod was as disappointed (and frustrated..LOL) as me!..LOL
I was sure cheering for them.
I wonder if Zaphod will find the Starskys and have a reunion with Mozart and Kinkajou? Maybe he will help them in some way?
I'm rooting for Zaphod to have a great adventure and find a mate.
in loving memory of Flower.

From the minute the title came on the screen the tears started to fall especially when it appeared as if Zaphod was no longer needed by his own offspring. Only Liz appeared to try and comfort her dad?, it seems that Liz isn't Flowers so Zaphod can't be her dad.

I just wanted to scoop him up myself and comfort him he seemed so lost without Flower.
The episode did make me smile a bit when he was stalking Lola, and finally got the chance to get her to follow him. The way he was holding on to her looked like he was afraid to lose another chance at love he didn't want to let her go even with Houdini right on his a&&.

I hope Zaphod finds a female that's willing to stick it out with him in his old age. He deserves a little happiness after the lose of the love of his life and the alienatio
