By no means was I interested in seeing Flower suffer but it seemed to happen so fast that I was left feeling just a tad cheated. So much so that I went online and watched the ending again.

They must have done some last minute editing because the version that is online shows her a bit more and at the end. Nothing horrible or anything but it just gave me a bit more closure to see she was at least 'safe'.

Just thought I'd mention in case anyone else felt the same. We will miss her dearly!!!!!

Hey manorfan, nice to see you /7 the dm this weekend. I know it was hard for us to talk about this when we saw each other @ SI Zoo dedication because we were both emotionally choked up & couldn't talk about it without crying. I need to watch the online version first. I taped this whole season. I am actually glad they didn't follow her around the whole episode like poor Carlos w/the camera in her face showing her suffer. I'm glad they kept the visual short. Her puffed up face made me sob hysterically. I wish they did more of a tribute at the end. Remembering her legacy, showing her greatness & awe as a true inspiring hero. That's how I felt cheated...like that's it? Crittkat for the UK had shared these same sentiments earlier. *sigh*....the Queen is gone, but not forgotten. We should get together again & visit Sebastion. Rupert & Jellybean soon!

Hey manorfan, nice to see you again @ the SI Zoo. I have to watch the online version first. I'm glad they kept her suffering short. At least they didn't follow her around the whole episode like poor Carlos showing her suffer. Seeing her puffed up face was too much for me. That's a visual I could have done without. I wish they did more of a tribute of her at the end, remembering her legacy, admiring her life. That's where I felt cheated. She deserved more than just a minute tribute you know?

Did you watch the tribute on AP's website?

You may not want to watch the episode online as you see her face full on and swollen but just for a short time. If that bothered you when it aired then you could probably skip seeing it.

Hopefully there will be a great tribute at the end of the movie, Queen of the Kalahari. I'd be surprised if there wasn't.

Great seeing you and everyone else! Hope you finally got to eat!

...i am finding, too, that i need more details about Flower's death to help ease the loss i'm feeling. i DO NOT want to see footage of her suffering. but, if there is footage of her being surrounded and comforted by all of the Whiskers, i'd really like to see a quick shot of that. i'd like to know that her last hours were not spent alone. i also understand that the camera's aren't on her 24/7, so the crew/researchers/cameras may not have this to show us. short of seeing it, i guess i can take, on faith, that the Whiskers were with her and comforted her and that she wasn't alone.

I've considered the reasons that AP decided to handle Flower's death the way they did. I'm certain there's no way they could do it to please everyone. It's too much information for some, too little for others.

I suspect they erred on the 'too little' side.

That probably doesn't provide much comfort. Perhaps the idea that they simply didn't have any more film in the cameras will ease minds. I strongly doubt that was the case, however.

Dealing with any death is difficult. I think back to the deaths of family members... and even though they were hospitalized and free of most pain, it wasn't something I'd like to save on film for posterity.

Very tough choices had to be made here.

Tough choices.

I believe the show was well done. Kudos to the producers.

thanks tombraiderbc, i also want to thank AP for bringing us MM and agree that it must be impossible to please everyone.

i'd actually be happy to just hear of or read by way of an interview with the crew/researchers that Flower was surrounded by Zaphod, Rocket Dog, Mitch, Sofie and the gang in the end. when i think of her alone, i just can't bear it.

That's what I couldn't get over. There were no other kats around her. At least from what they showed.
I hope they tried to comfort her somewhere in there.
Where online is the Journey's End episode?

I must apologize. Perhaps I was blinded by my tears or busy wiping them away but when I watched the episode again last night, it was exactly the same as the online version. Somehow I missed parts on Friday. Sorry for error.

About knowing more...I certainly hope they give more detail in the movie. Perhaps that is why there wasn't much shown. They're saving it for the movie.
