I has breast reduction surgery 5 weeks ago and after one week developed infection in my right breast. Although I continue to take antibiotic medication orally as well as use the topical ointment; I am not healing as quickly as I'd hoped. I am so depressed and get upset everytime I look in the mirror and know that I will have ugly scars. Has anyone experience any problems like this. Can you offer any suggestion or recommendations. I'd really appreciate it. You can also email me at lucab1@yahoo.com

All i can recommend is a lot of patience. I had my surgery 7 weeks ago, had two infections and my scars look horrible. I was really depressed also. I felt like i had done the wrong thing. It hadn't really sunk in that they were mine so I felt confused and frustrated. It doesn't help when you are in pain and look horrible and bruised. But you will get there. I've just started to feel happy about it all. Give it some time, you've just had major surgery and your scars will heal and will look better. I keep thinking back to what they were like before I had the surgery and that helps me think positive.
I don't know about you but I thought I would be estatic and jumping for joy, but it didn't happen. But that's life eh?

I really hope you feel better soon.

Big hugs Big Grin

Yes, I had it done as well, i have two infected. How this happen. I have no idea.I took the pills for 3 days like i was told, Showered every day , like i was tole. My breast look like 2 open wounds, after tape was taking off they split apart all the way. Now the doctor keeps saying they will close, the smell is real bad.He say's it because i smoke, and that blood flow is not good to the tissue , when you smoke, but i have had other surgery, and never had a problem with healing before. I had 48 staples down my stomach. No problems, no infection. I hope this doesn't scar like this. I was never told about this part before it was done.I am in the same boat with you. i am worried big time.email me we will talk...tnpnewman@comcast.net

I had this done in Aug/2003. It was something I had been wanting to do for quite a few years. Once i done it I experienced alot of what you are, with some infection and scarring. This had scared me very much! Going back for my appointments and hearing the doctor say that things were looking good and I was healing as i should, made me feel much better. I have now had them for 2 years and it is the best thing i have ever done for myself and i would go threw it all over again. I still have the scars, but they are getting lighter as time goes by. The scars will never go completely away. But to look at myself now and the pictures from before. I'm glad I had it done. All the pain and being scared was worth it. I tell everyone who has thought about having breast augmentation done, to do it. After you are all healed you won't regret it! I had both a lift and implants. So to all who has had this done recently! Just hang in there and take good care of your insitions! You will start feeling good about yourself and what you had done again!

Would love to know how you are doing today.
I had the surgery 3 weeks ago and my story is identical to yours. all my incisions are opened and I look butchered. Everytime I go to the doctors he tells me I'm fine, but when talking to others that have had it done, I am clearly not even close to fine. I can't even beging to look at myself in the mirror. I have considered trying to find a doctor out of the area, since most doctors won't judge another doctors work. I would love to hear from anyone who could offer some good advice.
