I am 42 years old and 7 weeks post-op from a Tummy Tuck with Lipo. Two weeks ago my surgeon had to put a drain back in me because a seroma had formed that will not heal up. It keeps filling up with fluid. I have had this drain in for 10 days and it is not getting better. Tomorrow she will put a shot of Tetracycline in the seroma to scar it up and see if it will close up. If that doesn't work, I have to have another surgery to open me back up and sew up that seroma. I am very very scared at this point and dreading having to go through this. I can't find this situation anywhere on the web. I am told that it is rare to have to re-operate. Does anyone have any information on this condition?

hi shamar7,

i'm so sorry to hear what you went through with your tummy tuck procedure. I just had a tummy tuck done with a wonderful doctor and had no complications whatsoever. It was a hard descision at first for me because i've always been a high risk for everything. like childbirth and other stuff as well. it took a lot of consultations, background checks, references, and watching the discovery channel and "E" enterainment channel before i was able to make this descision. please write back i'm anxious and concerned of your outcome. best wishes.

Hi, I am considering a tummy tuck...actually kind of planning on calling this week to schedule it after my consult last week. I am concerned about recovery time and pain. Will you share your experience with me.

some complications during surgery are just inevitable. nobody wants that to happen anyway. just be thankful that you're still alive. how much did the operation hurt btw?

Hi there,
I'm so sorry about your experience. You've actually made me think twice about getting a tummy tuck. May I know who your doctor is? I'd like to check if we have the same doc before I finally decide whether to take it or not.
