My cousin just had a tummy tuck and liposuction like 20 days ago. Unfortunately things got complicated and when she went again to the doctor to get checked they ended up making things worse for her.
They "accidentaly" burned her and had to remove all of that and the wound got infected because of their neglicence. They ended up cutting the infected part off leaving her with a hole the size of a big triangle like 2 inches below her belly button. The whole is about one inch deep. We are very scared and my cousin is very depressed. We tell her that there is hope and that things will get better but I want to tell her real stories of people who went through something similar and were strong enough to go through it...
Right now they just took her to the emergency room where they are conducting blood test and she has an infection all throughout the scar and they think that it might have spread to the bone... Please if you are going to have some kind of surgery please make sure that your doctor knows what he is doing... Think of your kids please!!! My cousin is barely 30 with 3 kids and really suffering a lot and very bad condition. Be happy with your body because they are people out there who don't even have legs or arms. Stretch marks dont make you ugly..they are who you are!!! Please be aware of all the complications and that you are wonderful because God created you that way!!!! Has anyone heard a similar story where the person made it through? Thank you and please take care!!!!
I made the mistake to having breast reduction while in the Navy. The surgeon had his assistant to practice on one side. Needless to say, they took off too much and one side is terrible.
Not learning from my mistake, I had a gastric bypass three years ago and decided to let the VA do a tummy tuck. They were suppose to do the top and bottom. Instead, they did the bottom part, cut off my belly button and left a knot in the side of my stomach. I don't have the money to make any corrections. I stay extremely depressed about it all the time.
I hear you guys. My cousin had a tummy tuck last year thinking he would definitely be able to get his abs toned after reading an http://www.body-philosophy.net/tummy_tuck_abdominoplasty article on the net. Afterwards, the procedure went bad and now he's scheduled for a reconstruction.
i am 38 years old i got married and had my first baby at 16 i am still married to the same man and we have 4 children in all,the youngest one is 10 years. i am 5 feet 2 and weigh 105 pounds and i have always been embarrased by my abdomen.i have bad stretch marks and loose baggy skin at the bottom part of my stomache, everything above the navel was fine tight skin and no stretch marks all the damage was below my belly button and a few wrinkles around the belly button.i dreamed of a tummy tuck for years and i saved for years to have one done, well i ended up with no bellybutton just a round scar that sits on my stomache, the skin above my bellybutton is loose now and it looks wopsided, and i have a scar that goes vertical down the middle of my stomache, the horiziontal bikini scar that goes from hip to hip looks fine except for right in the middle is a big wierd shaped scar not a tiny line like rest of the scar.so basically it was a major dissapointment for me,i feel like i did not get what i should have because about 6 months after my surgery and 2 attempts to make my bellybutton look right my doctor informed me he was closing his office and could no longer do surgeries because he had been diagnosed with a brain disease,he was a very kind man and i think he meant well but i think he had problems that he was unaware of when he performed my surgery.however it was a one time oppertunity for me, i cant afford to see another plastic surgeon.my youngest son has a kidney disease i have a daughter in college.me and my husband have always had to work hard to take care of our family,it took years of saving and an income tax check to have this procedure done.at least before the tummy tuck i had hope but now i cant even hope for better i feel like i had a once in a lifetime chance and i blew it.i cant even get my medical records with my before pictures.i know it could be a lot worse so that is how i have to look at it but i cant help but feel depressed at times.i really want to know if there is a way to at least fix my bellybutton at a cheaper cost then a tummy tuck? it looked a lot better before the surgery.on the plus side the bottom part of my stomache is much tighter and the loose skin is gone but the price i payed was messing up the top part which is what really shows in a bikini.

I had a tummy tuck and lipo in July 2007. It went bad from day one. I had researched and found a doc about 30 minutes away who had been in practice for many years. The pain was very bad even with a pain pump. I became ill and went in and he reopened my tummy in his office to drain it. I ended up with a staph infection and a tummy that was open and had to be packed for 4 months. Thru many antiboitics given I had a reaction to one and ended up with 2 blood clots in my right kidney which they said was a kidney stone. By the time they figured out it wasnt a stone blood flow to the kidney was cut off too long and I lost the kidney and was inpatient for 8 days and have to take blood thinners daily now. The tummy tuck scar is bad and I have dog ears on both sides. I have a large bulge on the top right portion of my tummy and hardly any belly button. The padded area above the vaginal area is lope sided and large. It seems like two different people worked on me looking at the difference between sides. I regret having this doc do my surgery and he says he can make ajustments in his office (hmmm which is not a surgery center). I wish I could get this fixed safely.
I had a very bad experence with a tummy tuck in Tampa,Fl. An open wound for 8 weeks, a pick line and lost all the fat and some tissue in my lower abdomen. I also was left with a tiny hole for a belly button that I can't even fit a Q-tip in. Oh, dog ears too. I am now in the process of having all of these problems fixed. All I can say is, be very careful which Doctor you hire to do your surgery. And REMEMBER, YOU ARE PAYING FOR THIS! THAT MAKES YOU THE BOSS! If the Doctor talks down to you or poo poos your fears, Run don't walk right out of his office and find someone else!
