Hi. I was wondering how much vanilla extract would equal a vanilla bean. I can not find vanilla beans anywhere in the town that I live in. Thanks!

Do you have a whole foods store? Hispanic stores might sell it too. Not sure. How about a place for organic? I know that here that almost all of our grocery stores have some sort of area for organic and health nut foods. Hy-Vee is the best "cheap" store for us or Wild Oats.

2-3 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract would equal one vanilla bean.

RE: vanilla bean
In a worst case scenario use imitation vanilla extract and use 3-4 tsps.

Hey Thanks! I had to go ahead and make the recipe and I used 2 tsp of extract and it turned out great! I was scared to use more, but will try it next time. Thanks again!
